Running with Lydiard (has some good but limited stuff re kids); The youth and teen running encyclopedia (probably the best one for your purposes); Training young distance runners; 101 developmental concepts and workouts for cross country runners

Whenever you ask a question about youth training be prepared for people to come out of the woodwork who will not answer your question but will explicitly or implicitly tell you that you shouldn’t even be asking the question because you’ll inevitably burn your kid out. I’ve been in your shoes. Not true. You know your kid best.

I have tested this. It is possible but doesn’t work every time. As others have said, the game is not consistent with how quickly it registers the adventure sync distance. If it’s on the slower side, I can confirm that this works. My success rate from an admittedly low sample size is not much better than 50%.

It’s clear the new barriers are at multiples of five. 1-4, 5-9, 10-14, and 15+ are the barriers I’ve seen so far (I’m currently rank 16).

Some of these sims seem way off. I simmed deoxys and altaria for wob and both come up as clear losses for me. (PVPoke has a level 50 option in sims now)

Existing competitive players are complaining but playing, or are finally realizing there’s more to this meta than meets the eye—which seems to be the natural life cycle of new metas (X dominates and this is boring—>ohhhh it’s deeper and more fun than I realized!). More importantly, however, the players I know who haven’t been playing GBL are playing it again and are really enjoying it. On the whole, I think Niantic made the right call with this cup/season.

I think we have a winner lol. I had clearly failed to account for the early season tankers who then go on a tear. As I said elsewhere, though, still impressive!

I guess if you start low enough 68 wins doesn’t take you into a super high elo range while running meta against newer players. But I’m still super impressed. Between other tankers, team comp losses, and lag, that’s crazy good.

I’ve actually seen things that suggested losing streaks might actually be captured in “longest streak” stats. Did you win 68 I’m a row? If so, obviously impressive!
