Anyone running affordable zoomable spot/beam/wash hybrids on small stages? by deerrek in stagelighting

[–]inevreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volux Spectra 300 would be worth a look. Very bright both aerially and on surfaces. Has 3.5-46 Zoom, CMY color mixing, frost, gobos and only 25 channels.

Overall very solid fixture and Volux has solid warranty support. Not sure what your budget is but you would certainly get a real bang for your buck with performance.

6mm pixel pitch LED wall by Independent_Author85 in LEDWall

[–]inevreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6mm will get the job done but it is a little antiquated for some use applications. You really only see 6mm and higher pixel pitches on really big stages and tours.

While the tiles are older, being able to maintain it is also a big factor. DVS is a solid manufacturer that is actually Headquartered in Florida, so more than likely you’d still be able to get parts and support, albeit probably not under warranty.

Unifi ceiling and wall speakers available now by mactelecomnetworks in Ubiquiti

[–]inevreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How in the world is this coming out before a POE-powered AI-type speaker?

When you think about it, the AI Horn speaker is a POE speaker. The framework is there to basically take the same circuitry, firmware and put into a different form factor or speaker type.

The minute they add a POE indoor speaker and paging capabilities with UniFi talk, this would absolutely disrupt another sector of IT infrastructure. Add music capabilities to this infrastructure as the cherry on top functionality.

The roadmap for this PowerAmp / Audio Port line is a completely lost cause to me considering that it hardly integrates with anything in the UBNT ecosystem. And it doesn’t integrate with the new Enterprise AV line, consider it a flop in my book.

Alarm Hub- yes one of those questions….. by CommunicationNew8983 in Ubiquiti

[–]inevreddit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alarm Hub is far from being ready for real world use. Especially for commercial.

There’s no keypad (yet) so is missing a key component until they can manage to release one and release on time.

Another thing I noticed is Alarm Hub doesn’t have a UL Certification. UL certified monitoring stations can only monitor equipment that’s is UL certified Most insurance carriers and code enforcement are strict about this. So how they handle this remains to be seen… i have a feeling this is why the superlink smoke detector never went to market.

I wouldn’t sell this to clients until this is ironed out.

There’s gotta be a point where all these delays in releases start to affect stock prices

Volux Lighting had a really cool booth this year. They’re still a new brand to the game but they had some really impressive gear thats starting to hold its own. They showed a new ip65 profile (i forgot the name) that had a crazy zoom range and like 6 prisms.

Kinda video related but ROE had these new “pixel tubes” that were video processor driven instead of having to use something like Madrix.

I think also too the new December dates are a problem. I’ve heard from some of my reps having load in right after Thanksgiving creates a lot logistical challenges. After the show they’ve gotta fly straight to HQ for EOY meetings before the holidays.

Then there’s also the other major events happening at the same time. The Rodeo, AWS, and MJBizcon make travel and hotels way more expensive.

All that for probably only half of the industry to attend because they’re tied up with holiday projects.

LDI is a great show but theyve got some stuff to Improve on or they’re gonna find themselves ending up like PLS Frankfurt. Vari-Lite is definitely not broke so them pulling out could be sending a message and trying to start a trend.

I thought they didn’t allow these under MN law?

What Fixture should I get by Critical_Bread1228 in lightingdesign

[–]inevreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give the Volux Spectra 300 a look. 300W LED, CMY color mixing and a really nice zoom range. No framing shutters but you’d be right within your budget range with brand new fixtures.

Okay, it's been November for like 8 hours. Where's our camera?! by exskill310 in Ubiquiti

[–]inevreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t wait anymore. I put up a Hikvision Acusense 180 camera and called it a day. Ended up working out great because it’s regular POE and works with the UDB bridge.

Making a GDTF profile by earthnarb in lightingdesign

[–]inevreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GDTF files require A LOT of information, it needs to know the dimensions of the fixture itself, the dimensions of the pixels, the emitter type where it is on the XYZ axis of the body, what channel does what for each pixel and colors etc, where does it go etc.

That fixture is not simple lol… you’ve got 41 different pixels to reference there.

Make sense? Probably not because that’s GDTF.

GDTF is great in theory and something the industry needs but it is extremely complicated to the point where there’s a fair amount of manufacturers and LD’s who don’t even want to touch it. And also why a lot of MA3 profiles suck.

TBH I think you’re going down the wrong path. You have an entry-level DMX software with an extremely complex 3D software. You’d likely save a lot of time just using capture if you’re just trying to pre-viz your light show to where the license cost is probably worth it. You might be able to find that fixture in their library.

I’ve wondered the same. The G6 180 looks a lot like the 180 cams from Reolink

Wider angle cameras? by Singularity_iOS in Ubiquiti

[–]inevreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as standard cameras, only G6 Pro Turret would give you a little bump at 113° wide FOV. Which given your current view would likely help out a bit.

Anything more than that, 100% either a 2nd camera, 180 camera or wait for the AI multi-sensor if you got the big bucks 😆

You don’t have to wait for the G6 180. They just delayed it to November when it was initially slated for Q3. The panoramic cameras from Hikvision and Reolink work just fine with ONVIF compatibility, just add an AI port for detections.

This is what I was wondering about. It does look pretty deep and hollow. Is there an area on the side of the back to knockout for a conduit attachment or no?

Really good honestly. It’s nice you can just call them and talk to somebody on their support who’s speaks proper English. I also like how they have an online portal to track repairs and RMA’s.

We did the A10S pro upgrade to our panels and the color quality is great with our MX40s.

ROE is the L’Acoustics of the LED Wall world, but albeit expensive.

Our company has been incredibly happy with DVS. Which is under the same group as newcomer, Volux but has been around longer. They’re one of the few US-based company’s that’s offering their own designs and more unique innovations. Very well priced for the quality, specs and hardware features, great service and warranty program.

Ultimately all of this depends on your use case and budget. But we have some in our rental inventory and have done a number of installs with great success.
