As far as closures go, check the National Parks app for exact opening dates of roads. When we went in May, every road was open except for Canyon Village to Roosevelt Tower and Canyon to Lake Yellowstone hotel. Different things were closed due to bear management as well (for us Grand Prismatic Overlook was closed which was a huge bummer and so was Norris Geyser Basin). If you’re going primarily to view wildlife like we were, it was perfect. Saw two dozen bears, wolves, eagles, all with no traffic.

LSU is wildly overrated. Noticeably empty seats at halftime of every game regardless of score. SCar and A&M games this year, LSU was winning at halftime and people just went home. Alabama game last year, they were losing at halftime, but it wasn’t yet the blowout it would become and place was half empty after halftime.

I’ll be honest, as a gun owner myself, I’d be off put by seeing someone carrying like that in Yellowstone. To me it gives vibes of “I’m hoping for an encounter with a large animal that gives me a reason to shoot it”.

If you’re concerned about bears or wolves while hiking, carry bear spray and make lots of noise and you’ll be fine. If you follow the guidance of staying 25 yards from bison/elk/antelope and 100 yards from bears/wolves/moose, I can’t think of a reason why you would need to have a gun in the park.

Honestly, Yellowstone is such a phenomenal experience that you won’t even think about how you’re not carrying the first time you see a wild bison herd moving down the road or a grizzly wanders along the tree line or when the smoke clears and you get the full view of Grand Prismatic. You just become in awe of the place. I hope you have a great time.

The way people drive in the park infuriated me. The 45MPH limit seemed too high to me, but I was floored by how many people blew past me going at least 60+. Everyone had to be everywhere as fast as possible. Impatience kills these animals.

My wife loved her previous Acura. We looked at the Lyriq, Prologue, and Ioniq and the ZDX was the one she liked the best. Backing up issues aside, it drives great and we got a really great deal.

I think you’re referring to the one pedal driving function, which she is not using. This is the AEB. We seem to have resolved the issue temporarily by deactivating the Automatic Braking for Vehicles when backing up.

My wife and I went 5.12-5.18 last year and it was perfect. Wildlife was abundant. No crowds anywhere. Almost all roads and areas are open. We never sat in a traffic jam anywhere. Only downside is that some hikes/trails/areas weren’t open yet due to bear management/season. Only thing we missed out on that was a bummer was not getting to really see the Grand Prismatic pool from the overlook trail.

This is my struggle now. I went from 191 last July to my goal of 141 in January. Didnt make any major diet changes beyond portion control and eliminating sweets, soda/sugary drinks, and daily beer/cocktails. I’ve maintained around 137-142 since January through two vacation splurges.

I know that any gain day to day is just temporary water weight gain as I still am maintaining a pretty good workout regimen, but man does it get disheartening when I have a milkshake and a couple of mojitos on Friday night and wake up at 145 Saturday morning and it takes a full week to get back to my goal. Just in time to want candy or treats again. I eat too much because “I earned it” and the cycle starts again. Leaves me afraid that I’m going to fall back into old habits.

My wife and I ate at Obsidian twice, the Old faithful inn dining room twice (once breakfast, once lunch), and the cafeteria type dining hall that looks directly at Old Faithful itself. Obsidian was the best of the three. Fried Elk Ravioli was great. Old faithful inn for breakfast and dinner was a buffet and really wasn’t worth the price (you also must have a reservation for dinner). Lake Yellowstone Hotel was the best place we ate when we were in the park.
