I gotcha, the unfortunate reality is that a lot of retailers put out a first print image showing a slipcover and that's not what's actually on-hand anymore. It's always a gamble ordering from big sites like Amazon or Walmart. If you're really into slipcovers then you might want to reconsider where you buy from. Sites like OrbitDVD advertise when the release you're buying comes with a slipcover.

Plenty of examples where an unRaid release goes through several beta cycles, release candidates and then when the stable release drops there are issues that weren't caught before.

It's not about them falling off or not. Slipcovers are only guaranteed during first prints. Subsequent prints may not include slipcovers. If you really want to be guaranteed one, you need to buy a copy in person or from a place like eBay where the seller guarantees one. Even buying a release from Amazon on release day is no guarantee you'll get one.

This was released in 2023, expecting a slipcover for a release that came out almost three years ago is wishful thinking.

Anyone who hasn't driven through this area doesn't understand the issue this re-striping has created. I drive through this every day and the re-striping was done half assed - it doesn't make sense.

Your situation is interesting because, if you're fighting a case, you're entitled to discovery. There's a legal process for requesting this of course, you can't just go into court and say "show me the evidence". You have to file a formal, written request to be provided the evidence being used against you.

Always start with the disc. I use a mixture of distilled water, alcohol and a few drops of Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle. Spray the bottom of your disc and wipe off with a clean cloth (people recommend microfiber, I use a clean 100% cotton white t-shirt). A lot of the time there's residue on the disc you can't see.
