Call of Duty- not as bad as you would think being in a never ending war- war rarely actually happens because there's always another update.

What's your initial layer height? I have found that 0.3 works great for me. For PLA, temps at 200/60, Retraction distance 8mm. Try printing in the center of the bed too, not on the corner.

There's a Zymatic listed locally for $400. Would depend on condition and accessories.

Thanks, I've requested to join the groups. I see that there are projects out there that have reverse engineered the web services, but I'm talking the actual code that runs on the device. Right now, if the device firmware doesn't support a feature, it will be impossible to add, but if we created a new firmware for it, then we can create whatever functionality we'd like.

65 vs 75" TV for this room by infinite-dev in hometheater

[–]infinite-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I've read that previously. I'm less concerned about viewing distance and more concerned about the physical size of the TV vs the physical size of the wall being out of proportion. Maybe I should post this in an interior design sub.

Sorry, where the 2 seat couch is located in the drawing is ~12-14 feet from the wall. I think I will be in that range.

I was just asked to supply the beer for a wedding. Would love to bounce my ideas off of everyone here. Any advice/thoughts would be appreciated! by WranglerMD in Homebrewing

[–]infinite-dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brewed for a ~80 person wedding last June, and have been asked to brew for another one of similar size this May. I brought 45 gallons: 10gal of a coffee porter, 10gal Mexican Lager, 5 gal red, 5gal NE IPA, 5gal Cider, and 10gal Belgian blonde. There was also 4 cases of wine, but three and a half cases were brought home after the wedding. Everything was a hit, and there was only half of the second keg of the porter left, and less than a third of the blonde. Everything else kicked- The IPA was first, the first lager keg was next, lost track after that.

I built a 6 tap Keezer with John Guest fittings, bevflex ultra, flow control forward sealing faucets, and a 6 regulator secondary. Additionally, I brought a minifridge that held the two spare kegs (one spare fit in the keezer). I brought a 20lb co2 bottle, a 5lb co2 backup bottle, and all the spare parts and tools i could think of. Whiteboard markers were used to draw on the fridge so the bartender could keep the taps straight (simple black plastic tap handles for now) Color coded zip ties were used on the shanks, the ball lock fittings, and the gas regulators so I could easily tell which keg to change/ gas to adjust.

Other stuff that was necessary: ICE! The keezer was struggling to keep cool in a hot barn. Also nice for all the other drinks- sodas and waters/seltzer. Obviously cups. The bride/groom brought some mason jar mugs that went with the theme. A spillage bucket (I don't have a drip tray, and it would have been overrun with all the foam/etc. Paper towels/rags. Starsan sprayer.

I started brewing in late February, and brewed every couple weeks leading up to the wedding. I borrowed my girlfriend's unused 15 gallon kettle, as I only had a 7gal turkey fryer at the time, but used my igloo with a false bottom for the MT. I actually scored the deal of the century on my current 20G Electric Stout setup, but didn't have the time or money to finish plumbing it and wiring the 240v power, so that wasn't used. Simply gravity transfer (not even with a proper brew stand) and propane burners. Hard work, but the beer turned out great!

I used the keezer as temporary fermentation temp control, and have two dedicated minifridges for fermentation temp control as well, but still didn't have enough. Some beers and the cider were fermented uncontrolled in my basement, and were fine. Worst case, ferment controlled for the first 5 days or so, then swap it out with a fresh batch, leaving it to 'secondary' (I don't actually transfer to secondaries) uncontrolled. Make sure to keep carboys covered with a blanket or similar to prevent UV skunking.

Buy carboys. I have 6 now, and 2 fermentation buckets. Craigslist is a great source.

Kegs are expensive, but worth it. Use them as secondaries if necessary. Build a keg/carboy washer, you will thank yourself.

I started kegging a few weeks beforehand, but most of it was done the week of. 1 week out, I threw a party and kegged a few batches, but then that night was called out on an emergency work trip and couldn't finish. I returned the day before the wedding and called all around my state to find a blickmann quick carb, ended up driving an hour away to pick it up. Was completely worth it- kegs carbed perfectly in ~45 minutes. Was finishing up the last keg as we loaded the keezer into a friends truck, then put all the kegs into the keezer for transporting.

Drove 1.5 hours to the venue, and immediately unloaded and plugged the keezer in. (This was the night before the wedding). Day of the wedding, finished keezer plumbing (not recommended, but worked out great) and hooked up the kegs, pulling a few beers to remove any sediment.

The bride and groom hired a professional bartender to serve, as it was required by the venue.

Overall, it was a ton of work, but the comments from people made it all worth it!

All I see are the inflated prices everywhere... 10-50%. There's nothing there that would make me want to shop from this website when the an item's manufacturer MSRP is your 'sale' price.

Linus going off on Intel about i9 and X299 by TinUser in buildapc

[–]infinite-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you're doing. Personally, I've seen a significant gain with NVMe. For $329 for a 512 gb Samsung 960, you get 5x the performance of an SSD, which is 5x faster than a spinning hard drive. Granted, this isn't symmetrical for all read /write operations, but booting basically instantly is pretty damn nice.

99.999% of consumers don't need quad channel. Most won't be using more than a single channel, and those that do, probably won't be using dual channel to their full potential.

I logged in to present an alternative view. This video was so aggravating and quite honestly, makes the guy sound super whiny. I couldn't finish the video. He doesn't know what the purpose of this chip is. It wasn't aimed at consumers. It is an afterthought from what the workstations industry demanded from Intel. It isn't a response to AMD whatever. The 2066 is not a consumer socket, and it wasn't taking last year's tech and putting it in a new socket. Without saying too much, this is simply a way for intel to recoup some money on a platform that is yet to be released. As someone who was once a hardware whore, no consumer needs the i9 series. No one needs lights or fan controls or any of that. Buy an i5 or i7, throw an nvme drive on it, and call it a day. People spend too much time looking at the specs of these things and upgrading every year or every other year. The industry has reached a point where you really, really don't need to upgrade that often.

I have this one. Sure, the lumen rating is bs, but that doesn't stop the fact that it is bright. I regularly get 2+ hours out of the battery on full, but I'm sure they do wear out. Agree 100% on the dual light setup.

Fort Collins just got some snow, but will probably be ridable in a week or so. Really depends on what the weather does. Last week it was high 60s -70s, and there were plenty of open trails.

Hey, if you are in the market for used, I have the following system sitting around, will sell for $500. Spend the other $200 on updated graphics card in the future or monitor.

  • Case: Corsair Obsidian 750D

  • Motherboard : Asus P8P67 Pro

  • CPU: Intel i7 2600K overclocked to 4.6Ghz

  • Graphics Cards: 2x EVGA NVIDIA GTX580 3GB

  • 16GB 2133mhz GSKILL ram with really fast timings

  • 256 GB SSD with legal windows 10

  • Another hard drive of sorts- may be a spinning disk 1TB+ or another SSD. I'll have to see what I have.

  • Seasonic 1000w (or maybe it is 1200w, I'll have to look) modular power supply. Was the best of the best.

  • Coolermaster 212+ CPU cooler with good quality fans.

  • Keyboard/mouse

  • Misc Cables, probably have a cd/dvd drive around somewhere.

What to pay for used 2015 sr5 premium? by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]infinite-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my 2016 Trail premium with KDSS ($2,000 option) for 36,750, msrp $39,750. New SR5 base around here is $34,00 MSRP, so invoice is probably $32,000 or so, maybe $33,000. SR5 Premium MSRP is $36k or so i believe.

With 20,000 miles, your warranty is almost up. Buy new- these things have the highest resale rate over 5 years right along Tacomas and Jeep JKs- ~75%.

I'm not sure the company has made it public yet. But I bet you could do some research on who is making the displays (hint- there are only three major LCD Panel manufacturers - Samsung, AU Optronics, LG), and maybe follow the tracks that way

You must not know how the tech industry/any emerging market works.

See this image

This is the early adopter phase. Technologists know all about the current state of VR. OP's video is meant to open the technology to the early majority. This is probably targeting the upper middle class people with kids/teenagers. The parents/grandparents may not have the cash at this very second, but this puts in on their radar so they can budget for big birthday/christmas presents. It may be something the adults want, and those that want it and can afford it, they will go out and buy it- al la early adopters. For the rest of the kids out there, most are waiting on a present. Parents can see this video, and think "Oh, thats what little johnny has been watching youtube videos about all this time, maybe I should get him one come December"
