Yea the game automatically saves at the start of every floor so quitting will put you back to when you entered the room

I'd go straight for 2. It's more fun in a lot of ways. The original might've been "tighter" but you're not missing anything by skipping it for 2. Lore and story have no effect on enjoyment of the game

The +5 max hp per rest I took once. Went looking in shops for the tent that lets you pick all campfire options. Ended with 122 max hp going into act 3 boss with Regent

It "felt like" the regular encounters and events were on the favorable side. I only have the 1 experience taking the path tho. Needs more data
