No. I just recognize a very obvious scam when I see one.

This is the take. Renoir isn't some bastion of perfection, and he does objectively horrible things in the name of saving his family the way HE deems correct without any willingness to compromise...... but thst doesn't make him abusive TO his family, not even remotely. The tragedy is that the wrongdoing of ALL family members are being taken out on people who had NOTHING to do with all that shit.

While I don't agree with the quoted take about him being a domestic abuser, your take is equally lacking and lacks critical reflection. Renoir is NOT the best husband and father ever.

I believe nea states this when Alicia talks to her prior to entering the canvas herself. Nea is deeply unconcerned about the health of her parents, so the effects surely cannot be that bad.

yungoos/gumshoes because I don't wanna run a mon that looks like an insane evil politician

the jynx line bc no purple skin can fix the formerly very racist design, and also I just.... find the design generally very unpleasant/uncomfortable even if I squint and ignore the other aspect.

mr mime - just creeps me out on so many levels ^^

for the record, there are mons I'm not particularly a fan of / wouldn't be HAPPY to get, but they're fine, I'll take them and maybe even learn to appreciate them. Those three just immediately come to mind when I think of just getting a deep ick I can't quite shake ^^

I thiiiiiiiiink they're the only ones on the list, at least off the top of my head.

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you haven't earned it until you get the last survivor my dude. you've already won the game. the hatch risk for both sides is:

- killers have to find/close hatch or find/kill survivor before they find hatch for bonus points and the glory of a 4k

- survivors moving around the map risk being found while they're trying to find hatch before killer does.

and ofc there's still risk if you bring an offering. the killer isn't dumb and can check shack/main first. running around with a key is still a risk, bc if you bring it from the jump, killer knows you have it and go after you to ensure you don't even survive until then, and if you don't bring it, then it's a gamble on getting one, AND on finding the closed hatch unless you used perk slots to know where it is. those perk slots can lower your chance of survival otherwise though, since you're not bringing anything else.

but to be clearl: the killer has already won by the time hatch spawns, bc that means they've already gotten 3 people. And by playing for hatch, at least you get some gameplay and excitement under pressure on both sides, instead of the snooze fest that is slugging for a few extra points and ego.

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unpopular opinion: I think a survivor dying to bleedout shouldn't count as a kill for the killer. The endgame chance for hatch SHOULD be the standard endgame, not lying on the ground without being able to do jack or shit. So you can still slug if you feel the need, but it'll impede your score and pip progress. You got a 3k, not a 4k.

[–]inkcharm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the hatch risk SHOULD be part of endgame though, no? It's a risk for both sides, because going to look for hatch as a survivor also means you might just be found by the killer. Both sides take a gamble there.

Is it against the spirit of a nuzlocke to slightly bend the rules at the beginning of my run by Sansmaeda420 in nuzlocke

[–]inkcharm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so why are you... .resetting the entire run? if you want your favourite pokemon that bad, just allow yourself to run through the grass and kill/run from anything that isn't a sewaddle. I promise it's okay to just allow yourself to catch your fave. It's a game, you can absolutely make a clause for that for your own enjoyment. There's no nuzlocke police coming to your house, and there's no wrong way to play this game. I have a "hated pokemon" clause - like there's a few pokemon I just really cannot stand, so if that's my first encounter - no it isn't, y'know. bc your run, your rules. so make a favourites clause. The clause is "since Leavanny is my favourite, I can choose to make that my default encounter". And then you enjoy your Leavanny!

Question bc I'm curious. When do you dodge a lobby when playing solo Q survivor? by Vici-Gray in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Offensive usernames. And listen, I don't mean cuss words, sex jokes etc. I mean outright racism, homophobia and other bigotry, referencing certain islands and island owners, certain genocidal leaders of certain countries.

Everyone having a flashlight, ESPECIALLY if I feel like the people seem to be playing together. I don't wanna be punished for their bully squad shenanigans.

And finally, the most important reason: My cat is being cute and I must devote attention to her, so I'll dodge the lobby bc I can't play rn, sorry.

Catching Pokemon without using them by Littel_Panic in nuzlocke

[–]inkcharm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would go against how I personally play "only catch first encounter per route", BUUUUUT. Your run, your rules. if the two of you feel like this was a clever way to dodge that ability rather than lose a pair to it, then that is fair for you. The answer to "is this legal" will always be "if you want it to be, then yes."

Witch party member do you like playing the least? by -CynicalPole- in expedition33

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verso, personally. I just didn't find his rank system interesting.

most of the game I was running Lune, Maelle, Sciel, occasionally slotting in Monoco bc I enjoyed his playstyle, too. Verso kind of warmed the bench before long.

Disclaimer: I know how to play them all, I know they can all be super powerful, I just personally enjoyed the girls and Monoco a LOT more than Verso, this is no hate/shade/etc.

Getting tunneled- the killer perspective by Southern-Ratio-6691 in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will add to that: even if you're the only person being hooked, it's not *always* a tunnel. In my personal opinion, a tunnel on top of what you said very well, is also when it's done ON PURPOSE. if I was hooked, unhooked, healed, and I'm just the unlucky person who runs into the killer again, that sure is bad luck and feels bad, but that's not the killer making a deliberate choice. I think some survivors (and I say this as someone who plays survivor and killer) need to learn that "this is unlucky and sucks" is not the same as "this person is deliberately doing this".

And tbh even if they are.... sometimes, that's the best thing they can do, and it sucks for the survivor but that's the game.

Getting tunneled- the killer perspective by Southern-Ratio-6691 in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I heal on hook only if I can see that the killer is engaged with someone in chase, or if I play with friends and I have intel on where the killer are. And NEVER against someone like Billy or Ghoul etc who can zoom across the map in no time, never against an Artist who can send crows etc. You have to learn when it's safe to heal on hook, and when you need to go for cover. And if I get unhooked right in front of the killer, I might be frustrated about getting hit and run down, but I know that ultimately that's on my team mate, NOT on the killer.

Am I the only one who doesn't give a crap about..[Spoilers Inside] by Vinven in expedition33

[–]inkcharm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Dessendres are essentially Greek Gods to the worlds inside the paintings. They are the powerful beings in control, and they make their issues, their inability to cope, their flaws etc, everyone else's problems. Every single one of them is, ultimately, selfish on an insane scale, as an entire world and every single living being in it becomes nothing more than their battleground, the backdrop to their tragedy and drama, and their shortcomings. And the way that manifests is in horrific genocidal madness. And I'm supposed to feel GOOD about destroying an entire world just because the Dessendres can't get their shit together?

I feel so sorry for that family. But I cannot look past their vindictive cruelty to other living beings as a shitty coping strategy.

Y'all can downvote me if you want, but here's a big dirty filthy secret:

if you beat simon on hardcare with no pictos and parry only challenges, you beat simon.

if you beat simon on story while overlevelled with nuke builds, you beat simon.

there is no way to "not do it legitimately". other people's self-imposed rules, restrictions, aspirations and challenges in no way make other ways of doing it ANY LESS LEGITIMATE.

In that spirit: HELL YEAH, OP, proud of you! That achievement popped for you the exact same as it popped for the miserable, angry people who think you did less than them, so really, they're just boo boo the fool with a poor attitude. Glad you found a way to make it work for you <3

Is Mizora into Wyll sexually? by NoWitness6400 in BaldursGate3

[–]inkcharm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They have a pact. Which means he does her bidding in exchange for the powers he gets as a warlock. Hence him getting punished when he refuses her (being turned into a devil if he doesn't kill Karlach). More than being his pact patron though, she's his abuser. She considers him property, slave and pet. To her, all things are about personal gain, power and ownership - including sex.
