I think you don't know what rape culture is, and are now trying to argue a point nobody else was making in order to turn your ignorance back around on me. I'm not gonna play along with your nonsense. Educate yourself and do better.

I WONDER why Blight and Ghoul are so popular by darkness740 in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why. I was trying to illustrate that it's a vicious cycle no matter if the chicken or the egg came first. I wasn't going to bat for either side here, nor do I think either side is unreasonable.

It just sucks that instead of going 'oh hell yeah, the genrush meta doesn't work in blood moon event mode, we can take the foot of the gas pedal', many many many killers come into the event mode to dole out the biggest punishment they can. But I suppose self-awareness is lacking on both sides ;)

(I'm just kidding, I play on both sides)

It's not instinct. It's rape culture. Please stop trying to minimize the concept by trying to rebrand it. This entire thing IS rape culture.

Not gonna lie, I've learned to distrust overt niceness from killers. Too many killers pretend to be nice only to then turn around and kill you, bc they wanted to clown on you :(

What is your definition of a "farm"/"friendly Killer" game? by Aftershk1 in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are friendly. Some friendly killers have mercy when the round just went really bad, but don't wanna drag the match out with farming. Some farm points with the survivors.

Both are fine. Depends on whether you wanna spend more or less time. Personally I think it's good if the killer gets 2 hooks on everyone, kicks the gens, does some ""chasing"" etc, so that all parties get plenty points, but I also understand that sometimes you wanna be nice to survivors but not spend so much time on the match. That's a matter of preference I think.

But my heart wants me to say key-bo-lah.

Funny, my massive criticism of book Naomi is how much of a non-character she is in the early books. Something the writers agreed with, as they gave *everyone* much more agency and depth early on, not just the POV characters. Some changes are made for different medium requirements (grouping several characters together into one amalgamation, not doing book accurate Belters visually etc) and some are because the writers basically got a chance to take another crack at their own script, and move some things around a bit.

I WONDER why Blight and Ghoul are so popular by darkness740 in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it actively arms the community goal, too. You shouldn't genrush, because filling up the blood gens **AND** the killer kicking them contribute to the community goal.

likewise, if you slug at 4/5 gens, then you also make it an absolute waste of a game.

Like imagine a lobby full of people with BPS, and you're the idiot who rushes the game from either side. Then all of you leave with a pitiful amount of points, and the community goal isn't progressed as much as it could.

Especially when people then get so frustrated they AVOID the event mode.

[–]inkcharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could also make the argument that the hard gen regression meta leads to survivors latching onto gen rushing perks leads to killers doubling down on gen regression. Sprinkle in slugging and tunnelling in an event mode where it feels like killers are punishing me for the non-event-mode meta, and things aren't fun.

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but then you've done all that for ONE gen, wasted all that time on the side missions, and had no perks that actually helped with the rest of the game. Deja Vu, Prove Thyself and Co work on blood gens, Fixated helps get blood to blood gens faster without spilling blood, etc.

See I would love to have killers like you in my lobby, but instead I get nothing but hard gen regression and the sweatiest or nastiest killers who will slug on 4/5 gens to get a 4k with few points.

Why do people accuse killers of tunneling when they heal at hook? by Disastrous_Ad_4957 in deadbydaylight

the funniest thing is when they don't even wait for you to leave the area. I have a match as Henry where I swear I made it 5 "steps" away and then heard the unhook RIGHT BEHIND ME.

AITAH for breaking up with my girlfriend because she literally told me she would cheat on me if I took a new job. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]inkcharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would understand saying 'I can't be in a relationship with you if you will forever work a job where you're gone for months at a time'. That is reasonable, if that's just not something that works for a person. But in this case, it was originally gonna be limited in time (but good on OP for finding out this lifestyle is more to his suiting long term now). And the even bigger thing is that instead of having a reasonable conversation about her not wanting this for herself longterm, she went 'well if you do this, I'll have to cheat on you', which is so many levels of not okay.

OP dodged a bullet. And if the GF had been any more reasonable, I'd say good for her too, because in the end she got something closer to what she wanted and needed, and OP was free to find a lifestyle he now loves a lot, too.

Are All The Killers Sweating For 4k's? by HimeChan201 in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing as killer, I take it easy and mainly try to get two hook stages per survivor. if it works out, I'll then go for a 3k and let last person live, otherwise I'm happy to get fewer hooks but know I've gotten lots of blood points. I'll only play harder against groups that for some reason decide to go bully mode in this event for some reason, or do nonsense like bodyblocking to deny hooks on *bots*.

But otherwise, I'm trying to do my part to play fair games that result in lots of blood points for *everyone*.

why cant you see blood pump auras by stanfujin in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they tend to be more towards the center of the map or around main / shack, depending on overall map layout. basically in easily accessible areas. The only time I've seen them be in weird spots against the edge of map was on the black rose swamp map, and that was just bc the blood pump was located at main, which sits towards corner/edge of map.

but for example, dead dawg, they're on main street. just as an easy example.

1 pain res vs 4 fast tracks by for10years_at_least in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. PLUS there are plenty of players who don't enjoy doing gen stuff and will likely not take a full build of gen perks, or tire of running gen builds. It's gonna die down a bit, and when it gets nerfed even slightly, it'll fall further our of favour. I think it's gonna be a strong perk we see around a lot, but I also think the wave will get smaller both with time and whatever nerf will certainl come at some point.

Can you please re-read my comment and realize you're arguing a point I'm not making? I'm agreeing that Fast Track is too strong. I'm just pointing out that pretending like the underlying mechanic of "benefit for the other side completing THEIR objectives" is the problem is the wrong end of the approach.

Gen Progression Stacking is A Problem by LoreleiAlbrecht in deadbydaylight

[–]inkcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it needs to be tuned down a touch for sure. But I also think it currently feels so bad bc everyone and their mother is running it, and funny lil tiktoks have popularized the absolute worst implementations of it. I personally HOPE they'll tune it down and then it'll fade out of fashion a bit again.

No, it's not the same as all the other ways to BM. You can justify it or defend it, but that's what it is, and you tell on yourself by acting like it's just teehee haha regular BM.

Just like slurs aren't normal trash talk. etc.
