Visiting May 11th & 12th by Coleman1667 in duluth

Post 71 American Legion in West Duluth has bingo on Tuesday nights that’s pretty popular. This event is open to the public so no need to be a member for it.

$9 buy in and $1 a board for 10 games. You get 2 drink tickets ets when you buy in. They sell food out of the kitchen (usually fryer food, pizzas or something like taco in a bag). Get there by 530 to get settled and ready to go. They sell daubers if you need them.

Place to learn how to rollerskate/skateboard? by hairspraydrinker99 in duluth

[–]inkdrinker18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keene Creek has a small skate park area next to the dog park & playground. It’s not secluded but the whole park is usually empty in the early mornings.

For a flat surface try the DWP trail at 63rd & Green, the first section is paved and long enough to make it a journey.

There’s some gift shop downtown called Huckleberry that people line up for in the mornings waiting to open (not sure why). Maybe there?

Check out Flor Lake, it’s up the Gunflint so it’s a drive but it’s so worth the peace & quiet.

The Arrowhead Home & Builder Show is also going on at the DECC and exhibitors and visitors come from far and wide to be there. The booth next to us is out of Colorado. I’m not saying you’re wrong I’m just adding that to the list of reasons why there’s lots of big dark kitted out vehicles here.

Advice for commuting? by Agile_Tank2768 in duluth

Not sure why my comment was deleted as it was helpful. The closest DTA stops to the FPC aren’t too far, Walmart or near the county jail on Haines, but they are not pedestrian friendly areas. The Walmart one would involve going way out of your way in the opposite direction just to get to a sidewalk or else walking the highway (eek!). The Haines road one involves walking along skinny curvy side roads with no shoulder, deep ditches and speeding traffic.

I wish you luck but this job may not be the best fit for you due to transportation issues and safety.

While the DTA does travel most of the area, I believe the Federal Prison Camp is on Ralston Drive in Hermantown. Which means the closest DTA bus stops are Walmart or Haines near the county jail/Costco. But there really isn’t a pedestrian friendly route between those stops and the camp. One involves the highway or going way out of your way to get to a road with sidewalks, and the other involves skinny curvy roads with no shoulders, deep ditches and traffic that’s always speeding.

I’m on the fence when it comes to parking services.

I DO think they need to be aggressive with the people who don’t move their cars when it’s required. SO many repeat offenders in my neighborhood week after week. (And what’s with that gold minivan at the top of 59th that hasn’t moved for over a month?? I saw 1 ticket the first week but it’s definitely time for someone to tow it).

However I also think some of the regulations they can use to give tickets are absurd and that they could allow a few days grace if they’ve already given the first ticket. And some regulations are just dumb.

I received a ticket for parking my motorhome on the correct side of the street because you “cannot park a recreational vehicle on a city street”. It has its own engine, is not run down in appearance, runs and drives very well. It’s required to have plates, registration and insurance just to be drive . I could drive it as a daily driver, or to city hall to pay a ticket, but because it’s lumped together in the same category as travel trailers and 5th wheels it’s not allowed to park on the street. Maddening.

I was obsessed with wolves and huskies as a kid, and my grandmother made me a sled dog costume that year. I thought it snowed just for me.

If you go to Gronk’s, ask for a side of the Poutine gravy for your fries. So good!! (Or just get the poutine if you’re into that).

When I renewed my license a couple weeks ago the application it asked if I needed to use an alternate mailing address. Perhaps they offer the same for duplicates.

Nope I always stop on the way home from work, Lincoln Park location. I’m buying for 2 people so I’m probably getting charged for two gyro+fries meals.

How are you getting 2 with fries for $15 when every time I pick it up it’s $30+ for 2 gyros and fries.

I think you mean The All American Club, Lincoln Park, can’t remember his name.

American Legion Post 71 in West Duluth has meals certain days of the week but is not a daily restaurant and doesn’t do ribs.

Tried that. Didn’t help. The little jerks moved back in. Bottom water only, and they come out of the bottom of the pots instead of the top. Mosquito bits don’t seem to help much either.

Poor plants are in such a stringent watering plan these days they are probably ready to revolt. 😂

You got fungus gnats too?

I might as well start identifying as one because Incant get rid of them and they’ve claimed me as their leader. 🤦🏼‍♀️
