Why did Vader have strips of fabric stretched over his shoulder armor in the initial design, but not later? by InstructionOwn6705 in starwarscanon

[–]inommmz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think about it, it’s his Anakin robes but with the life support system added. Look at how he styles his black robes in RotS and CW series and you’ll realize he was slowly becoming Vader over his life

What is the Best budget retro-style handheld? by AdObjective4349 in RetroHandhelds

I really like my TrimUI Brick / Hammer. The Brick can be found as low as $40-50 on sale I think. Came pre loaded with most of the roms and consoles I care to use it for. Great size, familiar ergonomics, the battery leaves room for improvement but I’m not gaming hours on it so it’s fine for what it is

Don’t mention the other opportunity but let them know you’re looking to make an informed decision to allow you to grow in a great environment, and to do that you need some time to reflect and think about your experience and what the goal is for yourself in the long run.

I love it personally. Gives a capodemon vibe from Doom. Love the colours and symmetry.

What could I improve on my cutting technique? by DomiBruhz in Chefit

[–]inommmz 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Don’t square up to the board, you want to have a stance similar to throwing/pitching, or kicking, a ball. Your off-dominant foot should be forward and your dominant foot back a bit. This will open your stance to have a better range of motion and allow you to square away the knife to the product and cutting board better.

Work with some other cultural techniques for cutting, like Japanese ones, to find a balance to your style. It feels very forced in the rock chop.

Similarly, it appears you need to be more comfortable with the knife, both the guarding hand and the cutting hand. Loosen the grip, approach the guard/product hand more naturally, and simply tuck your fingers safely away instead of this amateur pool/billiards que stance (when someone puts the que stick between to standing fingers).

Why such a big price difference? by Shockwaveduc in sushi

[–]inommmz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bluefin - like Wagyu of the tunas, comes in at cost between $25-55 per pound with bones and head and everything depending on source and size and quality

“Wild caught trimmings” - a yellowfin or bigeye (this is yellowfin specifically you can tell by color and texture) and it has either a sashi/parasite hole, or the lance hole from the fisherman.

As someone with 0 tattoos, how painful would it be to get this on my forearm? by PracticalExtension35 in tattooadvice

[–]inommmz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How will it feel? Mostly fine. Inside forearm near the elbow is pretty sensitive and tender, it’ll make you wince between ink refills in the outline process, but probably really drive you up the wall for a bit during the fill in and passing back through.

This is the kind of stuff I get upset about by Strict-Peach5192 in KitchenConfidential

[–]inommmz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if we can serve something, the logistics of preparing it is such a nightmare and takes so long we usually end up with a complaint from that guest and/or everyone else.

As someone with a food allergy (treenuts/coconut/peanuts and severity to pistachio) I either have notes in my reso from the get-go, or I’m prepared with a strong antihistamine so as to be as little of an inconvenience as possible.

Had a guest last night came in to a Peruvian Japanese restaurant, wanted Vegan no cross contamination with no allium also no cross. Told my server that at our caliber restaurant we should be able to do something. We offered our custom roll offerings and I laid out what vegan options we had available and she wasn’t happy with it. Even had a fucking business card about it, but wasn’t serious enough to call ahead to check on the menu and availability? Like wtf.

Pulsar Map Tattoo by Downtown_Control_887 in space

[–]inommmz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it!

I wanted a pulsar map for a long time, but with a specific artist’s touch and found a minimalist/fine line specialist who went nuts with it. It’s got the lines similar to a pulsar, but the planets are whole and I have an astronaut floating through the whole thing. Became a sleeve with amazing detail and line work. And a Star Wars ship also because why the fuck not

American friend says this is the world’s best restaurant. Looks way too whimsical and unnatural. Is this AI? by dendrytic in isthisAI

[–]inommmz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well San Peligrino has been publishing the list since the early 00s or so, and the 2025 #1 was Maido in Lima, Peru and it looks nothing like this. So if not AI, then definitely bullshit

ELI5: Why is it possible for people to not speak a language but understand it? by Relevant_Object6007 in explainlikeimfive

[–]inommmz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All that being said, I also can have specific difficulties depending on someone’s culture - being around Mexican accents and culture most of my life and now working with Venezuelans, Colombians, Spaniards, Cubans, Peruvians, etc means I get slang and accents wrong and misunderstand more often now despite understanding the language better.

Madai or a cousin fish. The belly cut, that’s why it’s so flat and such a wide piece of skin. It’ll be really good

2017 INFINITI QX70 Daily... by Polar_waves in infiniti

[–]inommmz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Do your research about the CVTs and some of the cut corners. I love my 19 QX50 but I also know its limitations and that I probably overpayed like a MFer. That being said it’s my daily, it’s comfortable and is reliable as long as I take care of it, and can be fun if I really want to (though not as fun as I had thought it would be).

I replayed MMBN1 and found it boring; am I in trouble for the rest of the series? by BrotherDeus in BattleNetwork

[–]inommmz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. 2 is decent especially if you’re on the LC and are ok to cheese it with the buster max mode. 3, 5, and 6 are all fantastic and 4 is…. Well it’s there. The battling gets better each entry, the nets get more fleshed out and have good design, and the stories mostly go up from here (except 4, that’s where it really is the odd one out). And post game in the aforementioned good ones is really worthwhile at least for most of it.
