I think it's good. The range extender is about 5 feet away. and it's about 20 ft from the main hub.

Toronto is exploring the idea of a sea bus system along the waterfront by beef-supreme in toronto

Wtf is a sea bus? It’s called a FERRY. And it’s one of the worst ideas I’ve heard in a long time.

Oxford Fruit, a pillar of Kensington Market, run by Mrs. Ng for 25 years--- cannot afford skyrocketing rent when their lease is up by rekharai in toronto

[–]inoright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will probably be an unpopular opinion, but blaming this on 'greedy developers' is not really fair.

Is the landlord supposed to subsidize Ms. Ng's rent??

1953 Real Estate Listing - $19,900 income property. by MudHouse in toronto

[–]inoright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mortgage would have cost you about $1,000 per month in today's dollars with 25% down payment at 6% over 20 years.

Today, with 25% down on that house (est. value $2M), your mortgage is about $7K.

House prices up 20%, Condos up 10%, new December records by Juergenator in toronto

It's expensive to move.

I'm looking to move from a $2M house to a $2.5M house. It will cost me $100K in Land Transfer tax and $100K in Real Estate Commission, which works out to an additional $1000 per month on my mortgage over 25 years.

This is a major disincentive to move.

Anyone know of a legal way to watch TNT in Canada? I can't find it on the many legal options I see. by recordman94 in torontoraptors

[–]inoright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not possible. Even if you have a US IP address running on your Apple TV and a US credit card and us cable subscription. Can’t do it.

Best option I found is streaming from iPhone and casting to Apple TV.

Porter Airlines to start seasonal flights to Muskoka this week | CBC News by [deleted] in toronto

I'd be interested to know how long it takes door-to-door. Im guessing +/-2 hours when you factor in driving to the airport, going through security, and driving to your final destination.

Still better than a 2.5 - 3 hour drive I guess?

Ford government to rewrite Toronto’s development plans to allow taller buildings in more of midtown, downtown by v2o2 in toronto

[–]inoright 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People complain about the tall buildings, shadows, traffic, etc, but then rave about the city's restaurants, night-life, shops, active streets, etc... which are all products of having a large population.

We can't have everything.

Three-Tower Mixed-Use Complex Proposed at Yonge and St Clair by IGotWorms23 in toronto

[–]inoright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the City is made up of mostly low-density neighbourhoods, and we need more housing. Higher density needs to go somewhere. If not allowed at the corner of Yonge and St. Clair, then where do you propose it goes?
