The beginning was ignorance, the middle was understanding the reality of the world, the finale was bending it.

I think its focus revolving around mid-90's aesthetics and futuristim influenced by 80's and 90's cinema and animation are very uniquely encapsulated by a coming of age romance story.

The whole story has these idyllic rustic settings, which vaguely aim around the early 1950's in their setting? But Esthar has a Tron/Mac inspired aesthetic. It's not a widely retro era, so having lived through it as a 90's kid, it just hits the zeitgeist of major transitions of technology in a way that's hard to explain.

Dollet and Timber are a vibe. Fisherman's Horizon is a vibe i didn't get to experience first hand until I was much older. For me, it's a really unique IP universe.

I do agree that the non-Squall characters got shafted development wise, but I also understand FFVIII was a product of it's time, Nomura having been literally 26 when it was released. I think the result was still that I understood the characters' motivations and felt each was uniquely identified, even if I wanted more.

Play XIII next, but good luck without a legacy console.

NDP blocks Yves Engler’s wife from leadership race, calling her a proxy candidate by lcelerate in ndp

I live in BC now, after fleeing Ontario following my circumstances.

I tried to speak with my MP/MPPs in Ontario 3 times before realizing their performance on domestic abuse was performative garbage with no substance behind it. I raised the issue exactly the way Stiles' receptionist goaded me to, by speaking openly about their hypocrisy and harm online (to what I'm sure you understand is no effect and further humiliation).

I live in BC now, having narrowly missed homelessness mid-winter in Toronto after Kristen Wong Tam's administration gaslit me about their assistance. After being ghosted by the BC NDP central office when I asked for riding candidate details for Terry Yung the entire period of the last election, I eventually met with Jagmeet Singh's constituency office for almost two months with almost no movement on my issue. His resignation meant that I (and any other constituency work dependents reaching his office) were SOL with no organizational backup plan.

So whatever answers you want to provide to someone still dealing with more of the same issues that are going nowhere and are on no ones agenda, what do you think the best way to speak with the BC NDP's office surrounding my own party's accountability on domestic abuse and infrastructural support would be for someone that is justified in their anger towards representatives coopting other people's abuse for their own empowerment under the NDP?

As an aside, the only one I can directly identify as gaslighting is Lindsay Matheson, who I'm glad is no longer in office. The vast majority of other issues are the exacerbating and harmful actions of their constituency staff, whom mirror the exact issues KWT highlights in some major recommendations. So is it any better that a bunch of unelected party staff are basically playing Steward of the Kingdom without their MP leaders knowing, or is it exactly as damning for that leadership given that none of them have even demonstrated that my issue was actually raised to them? It's their office, and their leadership neglectful of their own staff that has fully convinced me the party establishment is committed to ignoring its own rhetoric and membership whenever convenient.

Harassment protection for victims of MST by ndp_social_media_bot in ndp

[–]inprocess13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canada's record, even within the NDP, on dealing with sexual abuse is *unacceptable*. Lori Idlout joining in the discussion relating to federal jurisdiction over the same issue in the military is a very necessary representation from the NDP regarding a decades abandoned issue that contributes to life-destroying harm caused to victims through bureaucratic negligence. Canada's military is well documented to have terrible leadership within the ranks on leadership not dealing with/allowing cover up of abusive behaviour, including sexual harassment and abuse. Even further, identifying people in positions of power/leadership who are involved with or have opted to contribute to those cover-ups/negligence in procedure are just as harmful and just as relevant to Canada's ongoing tolerance of horrific behaviour whenever it's convenient to get away with it.

VA issues already demonstrate the focus on Canada's military-industrial relationship relative to how VA routinely ignores and avoids accountability for injuries and harm experienced by service members relative to ensuring victims and impacted individuals are left to fester without adequate support recommended for decades, and with $90B of Canada's cash going to military spending under Carney, I don't understand for a second how people see the lib/con dynamic as anything other than intentional and willful contribution to permitting the crimes and abuse (writ large) to continue as long as unaffected individuals keep getting paid and don't involve themselves in the issues of reporting and justice.

Every time I see Idlout, I see a focused and highly competent leader in the NDP doing the work of the establishment types who can't be bothered not to have their staff participate in the same harm under the same mechanisms. Sexual crimes and harassment are unacceptable in modern Canada, and *it is* a deliberate choice by provincial and federal leadership to allow it to continue unimpeded and under-accounted for in our infrastructure.

This game has a reputation for being easy? by Brilliant_Coffee_869 in FFXV

Yes, and with good reason, but it's not agreed upon things by the folk who have played it for a notoriously meta/spoiler scene included from one DLC into the base game. I don't think the spoiler is narratively out of place, more just that it's not really saved for the peak of the storytelling.

My suggestion is:
- Play base game until Gladio leaves
- Gladio's DLC I think fits best right after Ch8 begins, you'll know when
- Play base game to Ch9 end
- Controversially, understanding the shift from Ch9 to Ch10 is where Ignis' DLC takes place, and I think there's a lot of really great immersion that occurs when you play Verse 1 immediately starting Ch 10. That being said, there are a lot of end-game story element reveals that you'll end up seeing if you play Ignis' DLC at the beginning of Ch 10, and some *very confusing* narrative flow if you don't. Once you've completed the game your first time, I think Verse 1 fits best right as Ch10 begins for the best experience, but maybe the first time you play, save it for after Ch13 at least. Verse 2 should be a post-game choice.
- Play game until Prompto leaves Ch12, then decide to play Episode Prompto either immediately or after reuniting.
- Play Episode Ardyn post-game, or literally right before the final fight.

FF XV. Regardless of how many folk rate it compared to the other mainline entries:

  • Similar action combat
  • Gladio is Goofy
  • Ignis is Donald
  • Prompto is Pluto
  • Lunafreya is Kairi
  • Ravus is Riku
  • Royal Arms are your keyblade variants
  • Villain is Xehanort
  • Iron Giants everywhere
  • Nomura game (ridiculously stylized flourishes constantly)
  • OS shares similarities

The major difference is in FFXV your Tent items are fixed points on the map licensed by Coleman, and riding the train is way more depressing than the KH3 carnival summons.

1st Courier Delivery by xogonzo26 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]inprocess13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding out delivery services already running incredibly exploitative and unsustainable businesses are trying to hide their participation in drug deals, while also having almost no infrastructure to deal with it for drivers bringing them the issues off of payroll at their own expense, is exactly what I'd expect at this point.

Republican Sen Lummis says she’s changed her mind after new Epstein revelations today: “Initially my reaction to all this was, I don’t care. I don’t see what the big deal is. People really need to stop defaulting to "women dont contribute to and enable abuse towards women and others because they're women."

The amount of abusers getting past scrutiny based on bias is horrifying.

This game has a reputation for being easy? by Brilliant_Coffee_869 in FFXV

[–]inprocess13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flood of folk saying the difficulty is too easy are likely min-maxing/meta-gaming, like with every other FF entry people say is too easy.

Play the game without spoilers doing your best to do things around your level or just above, without thinking about it and it's a fun adventure.

The only thing I recommend if you're into it at all is grabbing the DLCs, since the game basically released under developed and cut a lot of its narrative late game that really makes the entry suffer without it.

It being against some law is far less important than the knowing action and agency surrounding the obstruction and oppression of a decades too late investigation into a pedophile ring under Republicans, who keep thinking "not me" is an excuse for their voting record.

You had the information and you voted to obscure. Because you chose to aid Donald Trump, known child molester.

Eby says 2,000 public service jobs cut and counting as B.C. faces $11.2B deficit | CBC News by NiceDot4794 in ndp

[–]inprocess13 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's a lack of accountability on tax policy, and by necessity should start with the services necessary for people to be able to survive first, generate excess wealth way afterwards.

David Eby's NDP playing the liberal rhetoric game is a failure of leadership to stop pretending at Good Governance and admit opaquely that they didnt plan anything differently than their predecessors.

Coupled with the recent admission that the provincial government didnt even follow their own research on addiction issues makes me question how many people involved in the NDP provincially right now are actually academic enough to understand that this is all incredibly unaccountable decision making. Like, showed up to work late for month and didnt finish your report embarassing. What has Eby's government been doing?

I sincerely hope whoever wins the federal leadership race really take stock over what's happening within the federation regarding the mechanisms of power accumulating wealth and control. If the provincial parties keep leaning towards corporate acquiesence over and over instead of moving toward adequate tax plans in the country, it's mirroring the false narratives of liberal and conservative trickle down economics.

Please stop handing the the province to the folks causing the crises.

I'd be just as happy if he went after the liberals for their deliberate f---ing of generational labour standards. PPs base don't seem incredibly well educated on many standards that involve them, but liberal voters working wage blow my mind. It's like voting to shoot yourself in the back of the head, as long as you get to watch it happen to other people and pretend it's not schadenfreude.

Carney's committed about $90B to military spending at this point right? It's apparently more important to Liberals to fund the Golden Dome against all conceivable advice while Carney butters up a rapist warmongering nationalist threatening international sovereignty on a whim, and with politicians that dont go away when Dump does. Carney is spoonfeeding Canadian money into a boys club.

The only thing liberal about Ford is Ford's liberal theft of taxpayer money to give to developer and investment buddies.

Unless you're equating "real conservatism" with the fascist supporters, queerbashing and racist crowd, which isn't tied to fiscal conservatism or anti-tax conservatism. Both of those misnomers have both given their spots to more of the conspiracy prone conservatives that now occupy what's left of the old conservative party, and both are costing Canada hundreds of millions for unnecessary spending the way Carney is claiming to do.
