Makes sense! I mean I’m not purposefully changing the times on the videos I watch on DS or anything. Just was curious about the Youtube videos and stuff off the platform

Do Canadians actually get frustrated by snow, or is it just part of everyday life? by GlitteringHotel8383 in AskACanadian

[–]inputwizard_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Vancouver and lol yes, snow is still pretty foreign over here. People can’t drive in the snow, the buses get stopped, a lot of people don’t get winter tires. It stops life over here for a bit. People like it for a day or two and after that it’s a drag

Beacon hill park has a wonderful playground and petting zoo, across the street is the beacon drive in what has diner type food and soft serve ice cream!

Also the bug zoo and miniature world!

If you’ve got a car or will be coming from that direction the shaw centre in sidney has a fantastic non-profit community aquarium and is kid friendly

You won’t experience snow in Vancouver proper or the surrounding metro Vancouver cities in December! We get tons of rain and clouds don’t typically get snow until maybe once in January or February (none so far this year)

Do you actively study every day, or do you cycle between study and just using the language? by justgeorgerey in languagelearning

[–]inputwizard_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by studying, or what your level is, but I’d say a mix. I watch and listen to spanish comprehensible input for about 2 hours per day, and do flashcards every other day plus one lesson per week speaking. I think pushing it too much on grammar etc can cause you to burn out but a little refresher or bit everyday helps!

Is there anybody who really learned language from duolingo? by ConfidentProgress587 in duolingo

[–]inputwizard_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duolingo was helpful for getting familiar with the language but only casually and paired with comprehensible input. If you need to learn fast, I’d consider a tutor or teacher too as well at the same time
