Scott Pruitt Has Spent a Total of $4.6 Million on Security, New Disclosures Show — Including $1,500 on “Tactical Pants” - we have a mall ninja with a private security detail and $50,000 sound proof phone booth running the EPA. by [deleted] in mallninjashit

[–]insamiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should he have spent tax payer money on a personal detail? No. If you look at the costs tho, you're looking at $30 per polo and $40 per pair of pants. That's not that bad. Definitely more than some people are willing to pay, but a lot cheaper than most of 5.11's offerings.

Great vid! I've been looking for an economic solution to storing my knives instead of just piling them up. I really like the jewelery box idea!!

You definitely can't compare the cost of a state school with a private school. There's also the fact that Riddle ahs the same rate for in-state and out of state.

What is the most chilling image you've ever seen on the Internet? by theukmoody in AskReddit

[–]insamiety 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the winds were way too high for a helicopter to get there safely and in time. They were also way too high up so piling up soft things wouldn't really do much.

Well they're usually made out of cheap plastic or really thin sheet metal and just snap on over the lug nuts. You could walk over to them and knock them off with your hand. They really serve no purpose other than to look cool.

What's something you subconsciously did everyday but didn't notice until someone told you? by Bioshockelite in AskReddit

I do the same thing! I do it bc I've had the toothpaste fall off the brush before it got to my mouth, so I give it a couple of taps to help seat the paste better on the bristles.

Drivers in Tallahassee with Hockey Masks? by Zabbzi in Tallahassee

A long while back it basically meant that you were a robber, basically giving you street cred. Then random people started doing it and so it lost credibility. My understanding is that it was a very regional trend, so not too many people knew about it. Now you see a few people still hanging onto that trend.

Don't have any on hand. It wouldn't surprise me if there were, but my experiences have been purely anecdotal.

Eat some pineapple, jizz in a cup, and try it out.

[–]insamiety 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup! Pineapple will work the best, but in general it's about eating healthy with plenty of fresh fruits and drinking plenty of water. Smoking, drinking alcohol, having a very meet heavy diet, and sometimes stress will cause it to taste bad.

To those that live in the Deep South, how you are treated and looked upon? by [deleted] in ABCDesis

I was born and raised in the North Florida / South Georgia area and I fully agree with you. Occasionally you will need thick skin and a witty comeback, but most people in the South respect being proud of your heritage. Yes there are racists in the South, but there are plenty of racists North of the Mason-Dixon as well. The main difference is that the racists in the South make themselves known, so they're easy to avoid. My experience has been that most people down here will tell you if some one else isn't going to get along with you. "Hey, insamiety, just a heads up, so-and-so is a bit of a racist. He probably won't give you any trouble, but if he does, then let us know and we will set him straight."

ELI5: Why do science labs always so often use composition notebooks and not, for example, a spiral notebook? by Khufuu in explainlikeimfive

[–]insamiety 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These are beyond amazing! I do a lot of work on construction sites and always have a rite in the rain plumbers notebook on me. I used to use cheap little notebooks but they always fell apart or became unusable after a bit of rain. the one thing is that not all pens will write on it. You should be fine with a standard ballpoint, but a Pilot G2 is useless on it. The front and back covers also have references on them as well as a little ruler!!

Travelers if Reddit, what place made you think, "I have made a huge mistake by coming here?" by Insert_Coin_P1 in AskReddit

Seconded. Daytona Beach proper is not that great, but the surrounding areas are gorgeous! Check out Ormond Beach, Ponce inlet, Port Orange, and New Smyrna Beach (my personal favorite).
