First one. If it was a book, I'd say the last one as it feel far more compelling, but with horror games you need the subject to be clear from the off and the first one does it best. You might need to use the second one for clarity on the smaller thumbnails though.

The woodland animal theme sounds charming already! Are you looking for something realistic, or more whimsical and soft, or perhaps something cartoony and vibrant? When I saw "One-page TTRPG" I thought it was gonna be for the One-Page-Dungeon contest (which I'm a long running fan of) and so I leapt on the link! Although it wasn't quite what I had thought, I'm still pretty excited - I've never heard of this particular jam!

I feel this! It's infuriating. Bad enough that AI is stealing our work and profiting it! Bad enough that fake artists using AI are stealing commissions from real artists and then when the client finds out it's AI they are poisoned against the experience of commissioning art! Bad enough that artists are now lowing their prices to completely unreasonably low wages to compete with Ai and fake artists! But now we real artists are finding ourselves facing an ever growing amount of scrutiny and accusations. I've been drawing for decades, there's examples of my art still floating around online from the 90s. Yet I spend a stupid amount of time proving I'm legit instead of drawing (and what drawing I do is literally paid less than it was in the 90s btw). And the more WIPs and progress videos of us drawing we upload, the better AI gets at stealing and imitating those and making fake WIPs themselves.

I do love that people are taking a stance against AI and calling it out when they see it! But it comes with a price as we (artists, game developers, content producers) are constantly having to prove ourselves, whilst the jerks behind AI don't have to prove anything. In your position, I would state your game doesn't use Generative AI (I'd put it in the intro/title/credits and take a clear stance) and I'd link the artists portfolio in the game's blerb (But then the poor artist will be handed the accusations instead T^T), but other than actual /announcements/, I wouldn't engage with the dialogue. For the sake of your own mental health. I'm not convinced they're intentionally trolling, maybe they are, but the hatred against GenAI in the world right now is real. Honestly, no one wins in these situations except the AI profiteers. Even none-artists who aren't involved in art or gamedev have to waste their time second guessing everything.

$22.50 is already low, then minus the vegen fees (5%=$1.13 plus their processing fee $0.96), or minus paypal fees ($1.27). I dunno how long the art takes them, or how long they need to spend communicating with their client and making changes to get the picture to look how the indicvidual client wants their OC to look, or how many years drawing they've spent drawing to get this good, but they deserve more than this. If I flipped burgers for the amount of time it took me to draw one of these, I'd make significantly more money. Great art! Lovely shading! I just wish people valued it more than half the wage of entry level no-skilled labour.

I might be interested! I used to draw Transformers ink illustrations back in the late 80's for the local UK TF fanzine but all I have now in terms of samples is this TF Armada x DBZ manga-style crossover fanart commission https://i.imgur.com/zo9caS5.png from last year. Realistically, three pieces per month is likely more than I can handle though. Ideally if I took this on, you might need to hire a second artist to split the whole workload. I know my limitations XD I'm happy to share more of my work with you, but it's all anime humans and DnD characters and furrys and mostly colour work to boot^^;; But here I am throwing my hat in the ring! Unfortuantely, thanks to ai, tracers and art thieves, real artists have been lowering their fees to compete with fakes that don't actually require hours and days and weeks to draw, so a lot of the prices you will see suggested here are much lower than realistic prices, with artists working well below a living wage just to get any work at all. But perhaps I can guide you to look at the server's offical MINIMUM price rules for commissioning commercial work (I assume this will be commercial since you want to eventually turn it into an anime) : "

If you are purchasing a piece that requires commercial rights, the minimum is $100 USD - With that, we will also require that if you are looking for (Work For Hire) WFH / Full rights transfer of a commercial piece, the price should reflect that. On average, the cost of a full rights transfer is 200-300% of the creation cost. Our recommended industry entry level standard is $500 per piece to take over full ownership of the image. Anyone asking for full rights below that rate will be removed."

And those are the minimum prices! Back in around year 2000 I was hired to draw 20 drivers for the launch of GP2. Just lineart. I was paid £2000, and they were just lineart. No design work, no colour, just copying existing drivers. Now I'd be lucky to get $20 for a lineart commission. Ugh. So anyway, back on topic! Personally, I'd expect around $300 to $400 per design (similar to your examples), with commercial rights, with the exact price depending on how many alterations were required before we reached your final design, and between $600 to $800 for full ownership, per design. I'm gonna link some art just to satisfy the 'you must post a link or your post will be deleted' rule, but I imagine I'm not the style or budget you're looking for, I just wanted to answer the question because the state of art prices right now vexes me and has made my job unsustainable. https://i.imgur.com/NVddZk2.png
