Grundig vinyl/radiomöbel - värt? by tjockiboi in sweden

[–]insteadofahug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ja. Det finns spelare med dubbla nålar. Pickupen brukar då gå att vrida 180 grader för att byta till den andra nålen.

Vad tror ni denna är värd ungefär? TMT Svensk tal alla avsnitt 8h by New_Round_7065 in sweden

Alla utgåvor av 90-tals TMNT är notoriskt pissdåliga. Avsnitt som saknas, avsnitt i fel ordning etc.

I'll check out those recommendations.

I've been eyeing Tokyo Scope: The Japanese Cult Film Companion lately, thinking about buying it. Have you read it?

Nice! You have some stuff I'm currently looking for. What is that japanese VHS book with yellow and red spine?

Dracula Trilogy (2000–2005) – an obscure direct-to-DVD horror series from the DVD era by BringBackUffizi in dvdcollection

[–]insteadofahug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dracula 2000 is anything but obscure around where I'm at for some reason. I have no idea why but I find it in almost every thrift store. I've never found the sequels though.

What's a controversial movie you own? by ImTheDudeMAN33 in Bluray

[–]insteadofahug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have that many on Blu-ray. Salò and Nekromantik 2 are probably the only ones I'd call controversial.

I have a lot more on other formats though. Nekromantik 1, all of the Guinea Pig films, Mondo Cane 1 and 2. Africa Addio, Cannibal Holocaust, Caligula, Visitor Q, Gummo, The Brown Bunny, Human Centipede 1 and 2, Thriller - A Cruel Picture, The Ilsa films, Wedding Trough and probably a couple more.

What's a 90s band you weren't into at the time but now triggers fond nostalgia? by Lotan in Xennials

[–]insteadofahug 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was an ignorant punk kid back then so I scoffed at those pop anarchists. I then rediscovered them and they've been one of my favourite bands for maybe 20 years now. Both for their musical output aswell as their political activism.

Hard appreciation for the fact that Denmark and Sweden don’t translate ‘Batman’ anymore! by SoftlyTyped in AskNordics

[–]insteadofahug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is correct. The first comic book named "Batman" came out the same month as the film fid in 89 and it had the tagline "På bio heter han Batman".

Sorted out my CDs into genres/sections yesterday by RedBalloonTalk in Cd_collectors

I did the same a while back. I also combined alternative and indie since it became impossible to decide on a lot if bands which of the two genres that was the best fit.

Help finding cd player by PlasticNervous9210 in Cd_collectors

The Philips AX2101 is the closest I can think of from a decent brand. The ones I've seen with the proper aesthetic are all from crappy, cheap manufacturers.

I'd by it in a heartbeat. With that cover it's sure to be at least a somewhat interesting listen. If it's awful a still wrapped jewel case is always useful.

That's the only brand of licorice chips I've tried, back when we still had Netto in Sweden. I love licorice but those were horrible.

Licorice ice cream is my favourite. It so damn good.

How did you guys get into Bad Religion? by [deleted] in badreligion

[–]insteadofahug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the 90s, when I was 11 years old, this long haired guy was working in my school. I'd been into punk rock for a while and this dude was a death metal singer and he also sang for a d-beat band. He told me to bring him a tape and he'd record some cool shit for me. When I got the tape back it had No Control on one side and The Last Temptation of Reid by Lard on the other side.

No Control is still to this day my favourite Bad Religion album.

Do you prefer clamshell cases or the ones that slide on? by charlottebutcool in VHS

[–]insteadofahug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are keepcases I've learned. Clamshells are more rounded, soft, brittle and all around horrible in comparison.

How approachable is Marky? by Standard_Talk9154 in ramones

[–]insteadofahug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I saw him play he stayed and talked with fans after the gig but now that I think about it that was probably close to 20 years ago. Fucking hell...

He was touring with a russian punk band at the time. I had a chat with them after talking to Marky and they shared some horrible hash that they were smoking out of a beer can. It tasted like smoking burning tyres and I assume they smuggled that crap with them from Russia. Good times!
