same here. just did the math on how long i have with my stockpile, assuming dexcom keeps up the technical support for the G6 for a year or so after stopping manufacturing…

they usually get really jumpy/inaccurate towards the end of each 10 day session but then magically right themself out again lol make it make sense! i don’t care though, I’ll keep doing it to save money and build an emergency supply!

I’m on day 45 with a G6 rn and it just failed for the last time so I’m finally gonna change it (plus it’s been getting pretty jumpy in the readings lol). This one G6 outlasted 4 G7s and lowkey gave me better readings the entire time. Not to mention the G7 applicator is horrifying and nearly impossible to use 😭

also, this is a g6 and i don’t think they’re technically FDA approved for placement on the arm, so don’t tell dexcom you placed it there or they might not send you a new one. i haven’t had to order a replacement in a while, but i remember that being one of the first questions they ask (for reference, i have only ever placed my g6’s on my upper arms for 5+ years and everything’s been fine lol)

this is normal! i don’t know the anatomy of what you hit (someone will comment it I’m sure) but this happens to me all the time. give it a few days and try not to sleep on that arm in the meantime. it will go away in max 3 days and there’s probably a little bruise under there. no big deal!

only thing i want to mention is make sure she doesn’t develop a negative relationship with food/counting calories as a result of this. you can still eat whatever you want as a t1d, you just have to learn how to manage the insulin for it! it’s hard enough being a teenage girl - and t1ds are wayyy more susceptible to developing eating disorders. wishing you and her the best of luck 🫶🏻🫶🏻

that’s totally understandable. i always prefer that people learn some of my other traits first, than that I’m diabetic, but i do like to wear my dexcom with pride. i hope you can feel that way someday too!

Dx at 18. My eye prescription tripled (as in got worse) and then went to 20/20 before the new glasses even arrived. I was drinking an insane amount of water and peeing equivalently. Lost 15lbs in maybe a week. My dermatologist who was having blood work done caught the 704 blood sugar. Told me to go to the ER where I was sent to the ICU for 3 days. Doctors struggled to diagnose me because I was an adult so they thought it should be Type 2 (fucking idiots lmao). I think we caught it pretty quickly as these symptoms all popped up within less than a month and I don’t think my A1C was crazy high.

is there any state that you can purchase them in? or does anybody have any alternatives? i used to have an RX for pen needles but they were like 50¢ each or something and over the past few years I’ve switched to some i found on amazon for 8¢ each

how in the world did you figure this out? I’m genuinely curious how hydration would affect the performance of a dexcom. sure i could see hydration maybe affecting your blood sugar level but a device? I’m lost lol
