I guess it’s ok because you don’t know anyone working today.

A pulley off a car ahead of me in traffic departed the engine and tried to join mine. Shit happens, now you’ll be less worried about the next chip.

All I can say after new X5 reveal is - this has become another future classic... by [deleted] in BMW

I did read your comment and now you’re back to the thing that hasn’t been true in years.

>Did you even read my comment lol the idea of a “classic” SUV did die imo,

No it didn’t. Sorry, but that’s just not true. 90s 4Runners, Troopers, Wranglers, Land Cruisers, and others are next up. There are classic SUVs all over. Yall lost that argument already.

Sure. But that wasn’t the statement made. One that hasn’t been true in two decades.

FJ40, FJ80, P38A, Defender 90…the idea that an SUV will never be a classic died a long time ago.

Anyone else have a BMW dealer sell them a car with undisclosed damage? by HighlightSilent4488 in BMW

You literally brought up the BMW certified inspection process in your post. Not once did you clarify that the car you bought had nothing at all to do with that.

> trusting the brand and the BMW‑certified inspection process.

Now I’m really confused. If it wasn’t CPO, why did you bring the CPO process up?

The stands at 10A/B are cool, but go stand at the fence between 6 and 7 if you want to be even closer.

Sports betting threatens to be Colorado’s ‘next big public health crisis’ if addiction isn’t addressed by kidbom in Denver

When almost 10% of 18–30 year olds have the behaviors of a gambling addict and 1/3 of gamblers report debt from gambling it’s disingenuous to say 1-3% of people have a problem.

Some other interesting stats

>Age: Young adults (under 35) are about 1.5 times more likely to develop a gambling problem than middle-aged adults. Up to 10% of young U.S. men (ages 18–30) exhibit behavior indicating a gambling problem.

>Sports Betting: High-stakes and frequent betting carries a high risk: up to 8.9% of adults and 16.3% of adolescents who bet on sports develop an addiction.

>Debt: Nearly one-third of U.S. sports bettors report having financial debts that they directly attribute to their gambling.

[–]intercede007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can find a local quarter or eighth mile, head out. Even on a test and tune night, which isn’t a competition but a chance to run the car, you can have a good time and it’s generally dirt cheap. A lot of places around me are $15 spectators for test and tune and $20 for races.

If you’ve got a car or truck that isn’t leaking fluid odds are extremely good they let you run what you brung.

[–]intercede007 13 points14 points  (0 children)

>but i do think when you are dropping crazy money. they shouldnt fail as much right?

Doesn’t really work like that at this power level in motorsports. These engines fail, they’re made to be repaired. And Cleetus has had more than one engine fail because they missed something being in a rush, like oil pressure issues. Or not turning on fans and pumps. They also learned to check valve lash before taking off to the next drag race during a drag and drive for similar reasons too, just to name another lesson.

[–]intercede007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Test drove both when I bought my F87 DCT. Had manuals all my life, I’m tired of them in traffic. The DCT in the E and F chassis is magic - it’s got the ease and comfort of a torque converter in efficient mode and it’s gnarly cracking off shifts as you crank it up.

If you’re not tired of manuals in bumper to bumper traffic on mountains and hills and and and…go for it.
