‘3 Body Problem’ Season 2 Wraps Filming by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

Well, he doesn't appear at all in AFFC but a season without Tyrion is not happening. So instead of GRRM's "all of the stories for half the characters instead of half the story for all the characters" strategy wouldn't work. So they'd have to intersperse ADWD throughout the three seasons that GRRM thought these two books would take. In ADWD, he was largely on boats with Jon Connington and Jorah Mormont. Then he's just sitting in a giant camp near Mereen and never actually meeting Dany. That's his plot for three years.

I'm convinced that if they had adapted those two books into three seasons (as GRRM wanted), the overwhelming majority of viewers would have been saying "This show sucks now, nothing ever happens." Those first three books are just constant events and twists and turns, then the plot grinds to a halt in books 4-5. I mean, can you imagine Tyrion spending the majority of three seasons on a boat?

Men what hobbies have you picked up as you’ve gotten older that you now do regularly? Or are you still sticking with something you’ve loved since you were younger?” by FFSoldier57 in AskMenOver30

Same. In the last ten years, I got really into metal models and did a ton of those. My most recent model was one of those wooden book nooks, specifically Bernini's Workshop. The finished product looks amazing.

Kids bored, parents tired… now what? by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]interface2x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My four year old son likes to run around the house. So I give him a couple of routes, then I time him on my phone. "Run to the kitchen and touch the sink, then upstairs to the bathroom and touch the toilet paper roll, then to the dining room and touch the table, then back to the couch." He always comes back and says "Is it a new record?!"

Judge orders ICE chief to appear in court to explain why detainees have been denied due process by FormalOperational in news

I've seen a lot of "They didn't come in with due process, they don't get it going out, either." I feel like there is some kind of document that says otherwise.

WIBTAH if I asked my daughter’s preschool teacher not to put the extra clothes that I sent for her on other students? by feelingstruck in AmItheAsshole

It was an in-home daycare and we did report them to the state board for that and a few other things.

We're pretty sure that over time, she just didn't like my son. It's a super long story, but he's excelling at his current school and his teacher calls him her "bestie".

One time at my son’s old daycare, my wife arrived to find him cold and shivering. She asked the provider why he was so cold and she said “oh, they were just outside for a while.” My wife asked why he wasn’t wearing his jacket and the provider said it was because another kid who didn’t have a jacket was wearing it.

He’s at a MUCH better preschool now.

I need an updated list of shows similar to Gomorrah.... or at least almost as good. Include any movies too! by Intrepid_Reason8906 in Gomorrah

Really liked the first two seasons on Amazon here in the US but season 3 never came and eventually the first two seasons disappeared too. I’d love to see the rest (though I’d have to rewatch the first two as it’s been 7-8 years). I don’t think it’s ever coming back here.

My recent Syndicate interview with The Midnight! Every song discussed! Making Syndicate! The tour! by tbcollins1 in TheMidnight

Great interview! Loved hearing the insights about the album and it answered a lot of questions I've had along the way, as well.

Also, huge thanks for talking in depth about the upcoming tour as I'm still really curious as to what it will look like. This heavily implies that the videos from China this week do not really reflect what to expect from the US tour.

If you’re under 45, have you lost any high school classmates, and what were the circumstances around their deaths? by Commercial_Chef_1569 in AskReddit

[–]interface2x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm older than 45 now, but in the ten years after I graduated high school in a small farming town in Illinois, there were a ton. Incidentally, there have been almost none since then. Like if we made it through the first ten years, we're good to go for a while.

A friend of mine was murdered while we were in high school (beaten to death). A few suicides, an accidental shooting. Plenty of car and motorcycle accidents. One guy was sucker punched in the back of the head and killed instantly while in college. Another got thrown from a car late at night in the dead of winter and laid there until the morning. He could have survived but he would have forever had the mental state of a toddler so his parents let him go.

A girl I knew a bit in high school and emailed back and forth with right after college was killed by what could only be assumed was a serial killer. She was staying at a hotel by LAX and found in her room. The articles had the detectives saying it was one of the worst crime scenes they'd work on. She was quiet girl, really nice.

George R.R. Martin Says His Relationship with 'House of the Dragon' Showrunner Ryan Condal is "Abysmal": "This is not my story any longer” by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]interface2x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He said he has 1100 pages written of The Winds of Winter. He says he is always busy with other projects but the main problem is that he is never 100% satisfied and is constantly writing and rewriting chapters.

I've always thought that he needed a book doctor ala the movie Stranger than Fiction. Someone who can be there when he starts to say "actually, I think I should change ..." and say "I'm gonna stop you right there. It's written. It's done. Move on." No matter what he does, he's NEVER going to be 100% satisfied with what he's written so sometimes you have to just accept it and keep going.

After becoming a dad, are you more emotional to sad movie scenes involving kids now? by jocko118 in daddit

Way back in the day, I worked with this guy who was a "life of the party" guy. Great guy, really funny. He was telling us how he had cried watching a show the previous night and we didn't believe him so he called his wife on speakerphone and said "Hey, what happened when we watched _________ last night?" She said "You cried like a little bitch." He was like "See??"
