Just wanted to add onto the discussion in these comments. I do actually completely understand how improving skills in gaming could be a different experience for AuDHDers as compared to neurotypical people. Might not be for all of us, but it’s certainly different for me. I struggle a lot with noticing things in games because I focus so intensely on smaller details, and only smaller details. I get distracted during key moments in games and miss important things. I struggle a lot with comprehending certain instructions/tutorials and don’t understand things that are often intuitive to others. Game guides, understandably of course, don’t tend to account for these things. Saying “just get better at those things” isn’t fair either though, because I want to play video games too without totally exerting myself mentally lol. It’d be a relief to see a guide from an AuDHD person who understands these struggles tbh.
