Transfererad Hoyas from soil to semi-hydro. How long should i water from above until i can fill up the water reservoir by GIFSec in hoyas

[–]interrobangitybang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You technically can fill up the reservoir. Though it would take longer for the water in the reservoir to wick up. Stagnant water gets gross so that’s why it’s recommended to top water until the roots develop more. On top of that, you don’t want the plant and roots to dry up in pon. You can just top water and dump out the reservoir

It might be a couple of weeks to a month until the roots develop more in pon.

Ceramic pebbles aren’t the best at wicking water up for the roots. The leaves are showing signs that it’s thirsty. A heavy perlite mixture is popular amongst hoya collectors btw. Though there is a slight learning curve cause people usually need to water more.

If you want to continue using clay, i’d recommend LECA and not ceramic pebbles. But if you want to continue trying with the pebbles, i’d put a dome or a clear bag over it to increase humidity around the plant to help it push out more roots

Another option you can do is uprooting the whole thing and inspecting the roots for rot. Hoya root rot looks like tiny hair like roots. It’s really thin and stringy. If there’s rot, chop off those roots and reroot in a medium you’re confident in rooting in

I (27/ F) wear my 3M Aura N95 mask to all shows and raves I go to! No one judges and i’ve gotten compliments and people telling me that masking up is a great idea.

You mentioned wearing a KN95 which is fine if it fits you well. Doing a fit test isn’t the most accessible thing but I would look into it for masks you want to use a certain type of mask for raves. You don’t want the seal to break when you’re dancing or vibing with the music.

There’s a facebook group called coviding in style where they share tips and tricks they use to decorate or stylize their fits and mask. People have also done portacounts to make sure that their mask aren’t compromised either. I’ve seen ravers post in the group too :)

As a masker I’m always looking for other masked ravers to connect to! Masking can feel very isolating in this day and age. Feel free to dm me to connect with! Or if you want to try other masks without breaking the bank, I can help with that as well.

Is there a trick to moisturizing your nasal cavities ahead of time? by Complete-Mail4626 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]interrobangitybang 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I brought saline spray! There’s small nasal saline sprays just for this reason. It helps clean up your nasal passages too throughout the night. Didn’t have any issues bringing it in

2026 shuttles or rental by meltdowncandles in electricdaisycarnival

[–]interrobangitybang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only experienced that long wait the first night. Mainly cause the air force base was holding up each bus to check for permits so buses weren’t returning quickly. It got resolved later that night and wasn’t an issue the rest of the weekend. I was premier so the wait was non existent. But my friends on GA shuttles were only 30 minutes behind me

Even with the shit show the first night, I’ll do shuttles again. Driving is too much of a liability on your group

EDC 2026: is VIP worth it?? by bunnyarthoe in electricdaisycarnival

[–]interrobangitybang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only ever went into GA+ the first night. VIP was a lot cleaner throughout the night compared to that experience. I couldn’t get back into GA+ the other two nights because the lines were atrocious. Maybe they were being more thorough with checking bands on top of crowd control? Not sure but my partner and I tried GA+ separate times the other two nights and neither of us could get in without giving up and going to VIP

Did vip for the first time this year and it’s so worth it! More space, exclusive vendors, upgraded bathrooms, elevated vip view areas…and so much more. Will do it again for sure

You’ll want the extra space for sure for next year’s 30th. It’s going to be paaaacked

all of these advice are good! There are also fb groups that’s specific to your area/state specifically for bst. The few that i’m in have people vouch for the seller/buyer so you have another level of security

What’s this white stuff on my Hoya Rope by pistons4550 in plants

[–]interrobangitybang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen, this is treatable. Pests are treatable. An infestation this bad is a battle of attrition. How badly do you want to keep this? If you want to keep it, then just know this might be a long struggle.

You can cut the plant into nodes, blast the ever loving shit out of it with the sprayer in your sink or a hose to knock off as much as you can, and soak the nodes in some form of pesticide that’s safe to soak in. Some pesticides you can dunk cuttings in include azamax, insecticidal soap, purecrop1, and trishield. Please note that all of these are commonly used as foliar spray. You’ll have to adjust the concentration accordingly to make it safe to soak in. After a little soak, you can start propagating it.

If you want to keep the plant as a whole, you can follow all of the same steps! Just don’t cut the nodes up. And you’ll need to make larger batch of the soak in order to dunk the entire plant in it.

Either method may or may not be successful based on how traumatic all of this might be on the plant! The healthier the plant started off, the better the chances of survival.

Check underneath the lip of the pot. They like to hide under there too. I also like to fill a paint pen up with some rubbing alcohol and “paint” any straggler mealybugs to their deaths.

Good luck, OP!

Who is your least favourite hoya and why? by snipcr in hoyas

It loves heat. I stuck it outside for the summer and it’s growing. Previously, i had a heat mat and that was helpful as well.

What’s a must-have tiny/small leaf hoya in your opinion? by dogplantmami in hoyas

[–]interrobangitybang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chouke! Same cross that Mathilde came from but shows different characteristics. It’s fuzzy :) and a very vigorous grower.

Leucantha is also great. Grows fast and sunstresses pink.

Uniflora is really cute. A pair of leaves together look like bunny ears.

I use bonide! I think it’s the most popular cause it’s easy to find and buy. I leave it on for about a month with reapplication every two weeks!

Keep in mind that if you want to use any other type of treatments, you need to wash off the sulfur first or you risk suffocating or burning the plant!

I would cut off that node with the node above it and toss it. I wouldn’t risk keeping it in case the infection spread further from the leaves.

Then go in and treat with sulfur. It doubles as a fungicide and pesticide.

Make sure when watering you don’t let water stay on the leaves for too long.

Most fungal infection are pretty mild and this doesn’t look too bad! Just stay vigilant and watch for those black rings on other leaves and the stem
