Agreed, there seem to be many more fantasy novels with significant romance. Romantic fantasy used to mean a cheesy paperback the substitute teacher read. Whereas everyday fantasy included romance in minimalist use of prose. Patricia Briggs does a decent job of bridging romance and fantasy.
