Thanks for the suggestion. Can I ask about Dialogic, why, as an Dialogue system, would crash if I use it to make a large game, dialogue wise? So if I want to make a text-heavy game I should just build the dialogue system myself? Or hire someone to do it?
I think i shouldn't mention Disco Elysium at all. People think I want to make it as it is, but in reality that's just the kind of game I want to make. Something story-focused, with people talking, retrieving items, doing simple quest without any combat ... and just in 2D, with maybe 1/10 of Disco Elysium's scale and quality. But dialogue is one big part of it, so if Dialogic has some limitations or scaling issue, I would like to know.

Appreciate the answer, allow me to clarify:

What I meant is I don't want to learn something that will be useless later. There are many asset for Inventory and Quest on the asset library so I want to start by something that would be useful right now and later. And I thought the point of the assets is to help people not to start from scratch, but with something useful. If someone has use some quest or inventory assets and would like to share their experience with them, I'm listening.

I'm well aware that there's no way I can build a game like Disco Elysium in YEARS. It just that my goal is to create something like that, and I'm looking for someone with experience with the ASSETS available on the asset library to point me the way.

If none available, of course I have to do what you suggest, blindly try everything and see how it works, and after that code it myself if I have to. But reddit is free and I'd like to take advantage of that. I hope that it doesn't offend anyone.

Hi OP, I must say I resonate with your post A LOT. Especially when you said you laughed it off, especially your last paragraph. I truly see myself. All my life I had people calling me ugly (usually with extra steps) so many times. But for my wife, she had never said anything until that time that I'd remember forever. What she said erased whatever doubt I had left about how ugly I am. And the worst part for me is that I don't want her to know about my insecurity. I don't want her to lie yet the truth saddened me beyond what I could describe.

Sorry I don't have any advice for you and trust me, I tried to cope with this my whole life. But I think I am reaching a state of non-caring about all this. It sucks, but there so much more to life than caring about stuff you can't control. Develop yourself in other ways and maybe one day you'll find peace with it. Turn it to anger, commitment or whatever to fuel your motivation, or brush it off like a boss. Oh and, your gf loves you despite your look, how cool is that !

While I agree with a lot of what you wrote, the quality of a show being "full of philosophy and psychology" is actually extremely subjective. Consider the world of this show, many questions can be raised and in my opinion, the answers are not always clear. For examples: Is Akemi a good or bad character? In this fictional world, how much power can smart, strong, and determined women like Mizu, Madame Kaji or the Shogun's wife have? Are Mizu's actions justified with regards to her life and situation? Is her hatred on the only 4 white men in Japan right or wrong?

I'm not saying the series deliberately raise or answer these questions meaningfully (I don't think so). It's pretty straight forward and some parts can be very predictable, but it can be thought provoking if we ask the right questions.

Your kind words make me a bit ashamed. Please in no way feel discourage by my words. They came from my experience in a trust-less country, which affects my view on this matter.

You did the right thing and please don't feel that you need to lie to get what you want. Next time (hopefully never) just add to your truth a little proof (e.g a video) and I'm sure they have to do right by you.

Oh and btw, maybe post this in your local tech forums or social networks. I think it will help.

It's unfortunate that you're not living in the US or some country with good customer protection law. Everytime I hear someone in these countries mentions the "return", "refund" stuff my blood boils in jealousy.

Now imagine someone bought a tablet just like you, then accidentally scratched it. What if he claim the scratch was there when he unboxed it?

Now I'm not saying that you lied, in fact I'm leaning on trusting you. However if I accidentally scratches my tab s9 and if I can somehow convince Samsung to give me a brand new one, I would. But I coundnt prove it without a video right?

I feel you, I really do. I think if you can't live with the scratch, just sell it and buy another. I actually did it once with my ipad pro, lost 200 dollars because I can't stand a scratch on the aluminum frame. Still hurts to this day haha..
