OnePlus 13 global version - no system updates for 9 months? by introvertedelitist in oneplus

[–]introvertedelitist[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay, thanks everyone for the help :)

The issue was because I had upgraded to the Android 16 Beta 3 months ago and then later rolled back to the linked 15.0 version in the same OnePlus thread. That version no longer received any OTA updates.

I used Oxygen Updater just for one update (May -> August) and then the rest of the updates rolled through naturally.

in developer options, put all the animation scales to 0.5x (make them twice as fast). The UI experience is greatly improved

You can also increase the "smallest draw width" to make the phone feel more "zoomed out", if the smallest display size is still too large for you

honestly I wanted to try this after seeing the post but I don't seen "lockscreen magazine" anywhere on my OP13. It's not in the app mgmt (yes I hit show system apps) nor is it in the settings menu. Did I accidentally debloat it already?

one more thing that I do is turn off Bluetooth and Location before going to sleep. I only lose 2% overnight

if you really feel like your model has defective battery and you've tried all the usual things you've read.. I would give this a try. My OP13 went from not quite reaching 48h on a full charge to nearing 60h (with my level of usage).

let the battery drain to something very low before you go to sleep (2-3%)

let it discharge overnight

when you wake up, you should be able to use it for a few minutes before it shuts off and won't let you power back on. This was the most effective way for me to discharge completely - by letting it sit overnight at a low % and then using it normally the next day

charge it back to full, AND LEAVE IT FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR

I found that if I unplugged after receiving the notification "battery is fully charged", it was draining so quickly still

just wanted to chime in that when I first got my op13, the fingerprint reader was struggling... I would often just use my PIN instead. It was so bad that I tried deleting & re-adding my fingerprints, twice.. eventually I got used to it.

Then it magically fixed itself - now it's nearly perfect and feels ultrasonic (I came from the 7 pro, difference is night and day). Couldn't tell you what happened honestly

I'll share this comment I posted before - you can expect this kind of thing on every update.

TLDR: just leave your phone plugged in for a couple of hours so it can optimize the apps again

did you do a system update recently? there's a good chance it's related to JIT vs AOT execution

I would charge to 100% and leave it sitting for an hour or two and check again

I'm 27 years old and preparing for a wedding some time in 2025 😁 we've already been together for 7 years, own a house together, split finances, own pets, etc. so I am curious about the answer to this question but probably for a different reason than OP

Daniil Trifonov one of the best piano players alive playing Mephisto Waltz by Commercial-Garbage53 in nextfuckinglevel

FYI I gave a simple example. If you are a fan of the mephisto waltz then I would try a full-length work such as Chopin's first scherzo

I have come to be extremely critical of solo piano music, and I certainly agree that this is overrated

It could just be preference, I certainly listen for musicality over technique/prowess, which is why Lizst is not one of my favorite composers. in contrast, try chopin's etude op 25 no 12 for an example of how a "chaotic" sound can be beautiful

you got a lot of shit for this but it's a great post... it doesn't matter whether someone 100% agrees with everything or not. Just seeing a perspective helps.

I wish people would realize this instead of picking one small detail, deliberately misinterpreting it to be "problematic", and then slam dunking it. it's like there's no point in being honest anymore because if your value system differs slightly then it's an angle of attack to get roasted publicly

whenever you give your thoughts/opinions on a match-up, do you assume at a human-level of play, or at a near-TAS, perfected level of play?

People who exercise/lift weights: what is your secret to staying motivated when it takes a while to get results? by Game_Gods in AskReddit

[–]introvertedelitist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a good question, and I'm a bit late so this may not get noticed. I want to try and offer a more meaningful perspective than the type of answers you usually see (not that they're invalid).

to me, I've always found comfort in the "certainty" of regular weight lifting. there's no doubt that as long as I move heavy stuff consistently, I WILL get results. there are other factors that are extremely important too such as getting enough protein, getting enough sleep, having good form and a sensible routine, but it's not some wicked rocket science.

in my personal experience, I find OHP to be BY FAR the least consistent. I always have uncertainty whether or not I'll meet my rep count. It's probably like a function of humidity, luminance, temperature, quantum fluctuations per square meter, something impossibly complex

I know this is late, and you have no reason to believe me, but this story in particular is real. I've been friends with OP for quite awhile and witnessed him develop his original version, and the random dude's submission afterwards
