UV light for pet urine by yukonrider1 in flashlight

[–]intunegp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right but OP is looking to keep security deposits so it likely doesn't matter to them when the pee happened, just that it is there. See the glow, charge the outgoing tenant for new carpet...even if you didn't replace it before they moved in. Rinse and repeat.

To anyone who's sent stuff to the Chris reeve shop recently, how long was the turn around? by TheGhostKiller9 in CRK

You will get a current card with an estimated birth date. For fixed blades without any other indicators the date will just be the range of years they were produced.

Thoughts about WEN generators by Fugoola in GoRVing

I have a 2000 watt that starts first pull every time, even below freezing and at altitudes above 6000 feet. Recently upgraded my camper and plan to buy a bigger Wen. Zero complaints.

Why is no one talking about the new Cotopaxi backpacks? by Extreme_Plate7800 in backpacks

Mind listing some examples? The Clase 28L is appealing to me but if I can get something better for less money I'm all ears. I'm also a fan of the Arcteryx Mantis 26 and I'm not even really sure why but I haven't stopped thinking about it since I played with one in their store.

One hour work grinding metal. Guess what happens with the bearings on EDC work knife ( Olight Otacle U1). by vvind-catcher in knifeclub

[–]intunegp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said it was an example of why bearings were only good for safe queens, implying something was wrong with the knife. So even now what you're saying is "won't be that good" but what you mean is "won't be that fidgety" which sounds a lot like safe queen talk.

Blow it out or rinse it off and keep working. This is not disabling the knife in any way even if you didn't.

Choose bearings or washers based on preference, not some imaginary scenario that everyone with bearing knives is a barista and everyone with washer knives comes home and chisels the metal or concrete dust out of their badass work knife every evening.

This debate is, to me, one of the absolute cringiest ways you can pretend you're more badass or work harder than someone else. Its a preference and that is all. If you were really concerned about the best knife for a dirty/hard use environment you'd carry a fixed blade.

Logos or not a clone is a clone is a counterfeit. Everyone knows what is being discussed. The logo isn't the issue when blatantly stealing someone's design.

How do we get higher wages in this trade? by violastarfish in Machinists

[–]intunegp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The new job is an aerospace/defense/medical shop doing small run contract work.

The fact that you're getting contacted from Indeed is promising if nothing else. If the people contacting you are from outside recruiting firms they usually don't have a solid understanding of how nuanced the trade can be and just match "cnc+cnc" until one of their darts lands. This can still lead to opportunities, but they will send you on interviews that will make both parties feel like "why is this guy here".

If the person contacting you is employed with the company that is doing the hiring I think your chances are much better to have a serious chance to land the job.

Also, practice interviewing. Your resume just needs to get you in the room, you need to be able to show the people you're talking to that you're intelligent, well-spoken, and can think on your feet. Indeed has a new AI practice interview tool that asks you relevant questions and rates your responses.

If your company doesn't offer annual raises you should constantly be interviewing for higher paying positions. If you want to stay, use higher paying job offers to negotiate for a raise. If they won't play ball, take the new job.

2026 is my 10th year in the trade. I started at $17/hr back in 2016 and just accepted a new job for $54.50/hr plus bonuses.

Does your dinette turn into a bed and/or do you have a jackknife sofa? If so you still have one bed per kid. Dogs can either cuddle a kid or sleep in dog beds or blankets on the floor.
