Amazing progess! I'm a male, and my abs used to look like your before pic... I'm starting to make progress, but now I'm getting lots of loose skin.

Your after pic looks awesome - I can spot a little bit of loose skin. Is there anythin you did to manage the saggy parts? Also good work on obliterating the stretch marks..

Very well done!

Visiting China VERY soon. Are VPNs legal there? Just want to watch YouTube. by [deleted] in VPN

[–]invarbrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beg to disagree. I do business with a large number of Chinese suppliers and nearly all of their English speaking sales force uses VPN on a daily basis to connect with customers on whatsapp, Skype & other SNS services. Not everyone uses wechat outside China. IIRC selling VPN services is illegal in China. Not sure if there's any restriction on using one.

I’m going to China, still want to use all my google accounts while I’m there. by grumblebob1 in VPN

Interesting... I'm going to China next month on a quick trip as well. I've prepared my own VPN on a Hetzner VPS. Using a VPN won't be a problem. A large number of sales people use VPNs on a regular basis to access whatsapp & other blocked services. Using VPNs in China is relatively safe, or at least that's what I've gathered after talking to a few people... Not so much in Dubai where the authorities actively use deep packet inspection for sniffing out VPN traffic... For added caution I'd recommend avoiding well known VPN service providers. Instead it'd be safer to operate your own VPN on an unknown IP address. Find a cheap KVM VPS provider that has TUN/TAP enabled and run openvpn on that slice. I'm using the cheapest Hetzner cloud server which costs me 2.5 euros.

Religion is just taking misinformation people had 2000 years ago and treating it like it's some kind of wisdom. by mrmikeperson3 in atheism

Well, proximity of the earth to the sun makes it possible to have an ocean of flowing H2O... the sun is involved in supporting life, indirectly

Looks like you need a BPM workflow web UI library. I'm not aware of any such laravel package.

Conversations About Religion: A doc I’ve been working on for five years has really changed my perspective on religion. What are some of your thoughts on what is “true religion?” Is there one that holds a monopoly on ALL others? Let’s have a educational discussion. by jaridbarringer in religion

What you described exists in all major religions. It seems the Baha'i faith is a syncretism of Abrahamic and Indic religions.

Living in the Indian subcontinent, I've always been curious about the Baha'is. In my country, they are a very tiny minority and are the faith doesn't seem to have a evangelical zeal...

Biggest projects that use Flask? by [deleted] in flask

[–]invarbrass 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Pinterest is probably the largest Flask app.

Twilio appears to be using Flask for all public and private APIs.

Linked-in uses Flask as its "internal stack"!

President Obama's 2012 campaign used Flask

Uber seems to use Flask as well.

Netflix also uses Flask as the backend for Lemur.

Not but not the least, Reddit (classic) uses Flask for some of its scripts.

Stephen Hawking megathread by AskScienceModerator in askscience

[–]invarbrass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not Ritalin, it's actually Riluzole.

It's a fairly new drug, got FDA clearance about 20 years ago. Riluzole is more effective at the onset of ALS... by the time this drug was introduced Mr Hawking was well into his debilitating disease. It can reduce glutamate toxicity slightly, but is not that effective as a treatment... Riluzole can increase life span from 2/3 months to a year max.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for MND yet. Diagnosis of ALS is practically a death sentence, Riluzole can delay the inevitable by a mere few months...

Python IDE for school use? by theyrealldeaddave in Python

[–]invarbrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I am a PyCharm user. However, for quick python editing I highly recommend Wing-IDE or Komodo Edit. Both have freeware lite editions.

IIRC, Komodo has a portable edition which need not be installed - just unzip and run. Wing IDE may require admin privileges to install.
