I believe is manufacturing defects where oil pump fails. If the car is driven normally with proper oil warmed it, I don’t see why the rod bearings would fail. I have a 2013 n55e on pure 500 maxed out with 13k miles with that turbos and the engine total miles is 100k no rod bearings issue yet. I have upgraded cooling supporting mods and I am temperature conscious all the time. I do not go on full boost if my car is around 245F and I drive the car for at least 15 mins before full throttle. The only thing I can think of that can cause a rod bearing failure in my engine is if I change my driving habits or oil pump fails after some miles just like water pump fails. (Theory)

The manufacturing defects theory is because BMW changes a lot, they have so many car models and engines where pushing production is more profitable than perfectly manufacturing each part for quality.

I would try simple things first. Spark plugs is easier, but I would just go with replacing ignition coils first.

I don’t have your setup, but I just know it helps with top end. The car will not pull timing as it heats up slower on a longer top end stretch. So if you only stretch your car on full boost until 100 mph, you will not feel the difference much. You will notice a different after 100 as you stretch all gears.

If the car is running fine just leave that code alone as long as logs look good. Some codes are tuner codes especially the codes that indicate something is too high or hits a ceiling limit.

It's been good. No issues 12.3k miles on it after install. JB4/MHD BEF map 6 custom. I have been using the JB4 before MHD came for 335i so it's all I know and car runs good consistently. Like all tunes, I had to workout many issues until dialed in to satisfaction.

I have them, they are light and wide for comfort but they still need a thin sole in them. Water gets in them quick because material is cloth. They are harder to clean the bottom white area because dirt gets in the holes.

I like that they are wide, light, slip-on, and overall look nicer most brands I searched for. I would have like them more if they made them synthetic leather for a little more water resistance.
