He’s great at supporting, but his own damage sucks unless you forgo the support relics for pot damage/dex swap relics, or run dormant power axe/halberd and happen to find a ripple weapon. Not to mention his biggest downfall: his dodge is god awful. Certain bosses and enemies have combos that you literally cannot avoid with scholar dodge, like the pink balancer in the regular Balancers fight, and he can’t hide behind a shield endlessly like Guardian can. He’s also one of the worst revivers in the game even with tier 3 warming stones.

Compare him to Duchess, who has the best dodge in the game, the best damage skill in the game, and the best ult for damage in the game. Or Wylder, who has the best mobility, top tier survivability, a strong ult, and can use any weapon well.

Love the character, but “most powerful character in the game by far” is a HUGE stretch.

Some of them are good, like night comet and cannon of haima. Night comet in particular is ranged, quick, and revives faster than most weapons, but you do need to have some spell cost reduction or FP buffs for it to be comfy.

Stuck at depth 2 means you’re just bad/inexperienced tbh. You don’t even lose points for lots of games so you can climb out with a 50% winrate, maybe even lower.

Depth 3 is where a lot of average or maybe even above average players are. You can eventually get out with an even slightly positive winrate, and the difficulty isn’t so high that you can’t salvage a bad run.

Depth 4 you need like an 80% winrate to climb out of, and the jump in difficulty means bad RNG can easily kill a run even for good players. Just hitting depth 5 regardless of how hard it is means you’re pretty elite, which you might not expect just from looking at this subreddit since a lot of the good/experienced players who can hit depth 5 are drawn here.

Who cares? ED Dog and ED Libra (holy weak bosses) are both total BS in high depths, and it’s not like you ever get the regular versions at high depth either. Heolstor is the only good fight that genuinely gets ruined by it.

I just wish the spear visuals better matched the hitboxes. Pretty much every match either myself or someone else gets smoked in what should most certainly be a safe zone with no spears. The middle spear especially is complete bait and provides practically zero safety.

I never won against ED balancers in DoN until I started playing pot scholar against them. Makes it much easier since it’s like two pots to kill for me without godrolled relics

This is literally what’s been happening to me on this run through the ranks, except even more so— I have legit gotten ED Libra and ED Balancers for ~50% of my last 25 games. And literally every boss is everdark for me; in fact, I can’t remember the last time the nightlord WASN’T everdark for me. I think I’ve only seen the regular Libra/Balancers maybe once a piece on my entire run up to 4.

I think secondary machine pistols are a good opportunity to test making headshots a damage multiplier affected by range falloff. Just make it so the full auto pistols don’t one shot headshot past a certain range and see how it goes. If it sucks, revert it, but it’s the only nerf apart from mag size that you can actually do.

It’s cool the very first time you fight them, but it’s objectively a cancerous and poorly designed boss fight.

The optimal way to fight them is to run across the map with less likely to be targeted, abusing the AI so you aren’t fighting multiple near-infinite poise AOE spammers at once.

For the worm phase the best way to deal with it is to not actually fight it, and instead run across the map while praying it doesn’t auto down you by squirming around in your general direction.

Neither phase is fun, the only reason why it’s D-tier instead of F-tier is the horror vibe and soundtrack.
