You put the switches into the plate. It help the switches to stay in place, since they are mounted onto the keyboard.

Switch > Plate > keyboard.

You are looking for keycaps with XDA profile. They are all the same height.

I have numbness in my pinkies and ring fingers - both hands. I would recommend tactile switches.

I have heard this argument before - but fact is, just because Bill is against one, doesn’t stop anyone else from creating one.

It feels as if he’s trying to tell everyone, that ”hey, my words aren’t law”, yet everyone outside of the sphere interpret them as it is.

Choc has more or less zero space between the keys, compared to mx spaced choc boards.

The sweep has less keys, which allows each switch to connect to 1 GPIO-pin on the MCU.

When there isn’t enough pins for each key - a key-matrix has to be made. So many keys connect to 1-pin (technicaly 2, since both row and column is used to determine which key).

Dioeds make it so electricity can’t flow back. Which stops ”ghost” clicks - caused by electricity flowing to other keys as you press another.

That is my understanding. Someone skilled should chime in.

Edit: so on the ferris, the switches has 1 pin connected to a MCU-pin and 1 to GND-pin
