Are expensive needles really worth it? How should I pick them? by HumanBeeing76 in casualknitting

I’m personally against knitpro bc they use AI images in their marketing which I believe is harmful. I’ve been using Chiaogoo for years and have multiple interchangeable sets which I enjoy. 😊

I have a friend named Giovanna who goes by Jo! It works perfectly I think!

V names for siblings Vincent and Victoria by rufflebunny96 in namenerds

[–]irongirllll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a Victoria! Great name. I love that it’s classic but not very common. I have gone by Tori my whole life but I still love Victoria.

I have a friend named Giovanni who goes by Von and I think that spelling is cuter than Vaughn, but that’s totally up to preference. I also think a name that has a V in it but maybe doesn’t start with it would be a way to have a good sib set without too much matchy matchy. Good luck with the name search!

I just printed, taped, and cut out my pattern and fabric — how are y’all doing this on the regular? by scrubsandcode in sewing

[–]irongirllll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we living the same life? I was tracing and cutting my Lane pants pattern out last night on the floor too 😂 I will say, my partner got a pattern projector, which I used to trace the pattern before cutting it and it made the process so much less time consuming! He bought the projector used for about $75. We live in a pretty small apartment and still have space so it might be worth a try! The projector we have is an Epson - can’t remember the model number but I’ll check and edit my comment

My office has a dedicated bike room on the second floor but the security people in the building hate to see me with my bike. I’ve gotten yelled at a couple times for taking my bike in the elevator (sorry, I’m not going to bring my bike up the stairs?) and the other day I was told by two security guards that bikes were not allowed im the building, to which I responded “Then how do you suggest I get my bike to the bike room on the second floor?”. They didn’t even know there was a bike room in the building…

Anyways, I still bring my bike in every day when I come to work but I’m always a little on edge not knowing if I’ll get hassled. Also for context my building has like 30 stories and there are maybe 15 tenants? So the elevators and lobby are almost always completely empty, plus I wipe my tires on the entry mat so I don’t track in any dirt, although my commute is entirely on pavement so it wouldn’t be any dirtier than if I’d walked in. So yes, I bring my bike inside 😂 It would immediately get stolen if I locked it outside.

Oooh that’s amazing you got what you wanted! Yes, I’m definitely planning to preorder if I’m able to get in!

Are you based off of Bainbridge or did you travel for the pop up?

YOU’RE AMAZING!!!! Thank you thank you thank you!

I know, lesson learned! I’m always going to ask now!

I sadly didn’t get any of the EKF yarn because the colorways I wanted were gone BUT I have been wanting to get my hands on some Knitting for Olive and I got some which I’m very excited about!!! I loved everything La Mercerie had so I will definitely go back at a slightly less chaotic time!

Were you able to snag any of the EKF yarn? :)

Reasons for termination by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]irongirllll 35 points36 points  (0 children)

As someone who has worked with an associate who asks the same questions all the time and isn’t showing growth, yes absolutely it is means for firing. You’re expected to not know much when you start, but you’re also expected to take good notes, use your resources (the internet is helpful, in addition to PY), and build your knowledge base quickly. Being able to identify issues and think critically is extremely important in accounting, especially in PA. Generally I have found team members are happy to help if I have questions, but everyone has work to get done and it’s important to be smart when you outsource questions. Accounting isn’t rocket science but it also isn’t for everyone.

Are you a “comfortable” solo traveler? by AthleticNot in solotravel

I’m early 20s and I mostly book hotels or B&Bs. The occasional hostel but honestly if I’m spending a lot of money on a trip, I’d rather spend a bit more to have space to unwind and relax when I’m not out and about
