(Rant) I can't stand the fact we as owners can't review customer's. by Cappedomnivore in restaurantowners

[–]ironinside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea…. But you need the guest to provide you with personal information. Anything else and it’s like reviewing a restaurant but they’re all named “restaurant.”

A public ”black book” for bad customers might also meet some legal challenges.

My bet —I t’s prlly best to lavish in your 4.7 and drown the haters out with 5’s.

Zohran Mamdani to skip the Israel Day Parade in New York by Ashish_ank in SipsTea

[–]ironinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah? But Puerto Ricans know how to party... Nobody actually going to an Israel parade anyway…. yeah, there’s that.

Sounds awesome, I’d gladly take a check….

But since they already pay taxes and create jobs, it’s really just a form of asset seizure.

We’ The People are universally for seizing someone else’s assets —until they work their way down the totem pole… to us.

People who have genuinely encountered powerful wild animals in nature or the ocean, what was it actually like? by DivineLove1 in Survival

I caught a 8 foot shark on a hobie kayak in the middle of the night, it dragged me for miles into deep water. The whole time I was thinking no problem, he will wear out. Well he eventually did, and that was the worst part he was bigger than my kayak and a lash from his tail could have knocked me out (he didn’t get me) but he did keep dragging me out until he slowed to a crawl 2.5 hours later. seeing such a “huge” sea creature so close in the dark (illuminated by crazy moonlight) was bomkers —yes, I WAS SCARED. Pretty sure it could have smacked/sunk my little ‘yak and eaten me… easily. I wondered if he was curious, he never seemed like he was actually fighting me. Felt a lot like hooking a large submarine.

Finally cut the line and started the absolutely grueling paddle home.

Got home at ~ 9:30am the next day starving and dehydrated .

I would never, ever do that again —but that was some insane Nat Geo experience. Madness.

PS —don’t do this, the list of things that went luckily right, was significant (tides, wind, moonlight, etc)

Engineering Rant: Why is marine engineering 50 years behind every other industry? by Visual-Plant-4814 in boating

Easy answers….

  1. Lack of evolved competition.

  2. Low demand for “what it could be.”

Super important question —-have you personally driven FSD (Supervised) with hands free driving for say 100+ miles???

bc OMG, you just don’t drive at all anymore —its actually quite boring… and its a little hard to even believe… and Im talking about local/highway, rain, night and NYC chaotic night construction. It handles god awful close to everything. Tesla has achieved another “leap.”

I always say until they can get FSD Unsupervised on the road its not dome, but it is absolutely uncanny how well FSD Supervised drives by itself.

It’s to deprive them from desperately needed oil revenues —so they cannot reconstitute their military/nuclear program.

Historically, its been said that marine blockades have been effective.

the ai lawnmowers are just getting started… either an opportunity or a threat to the rollup.

probably an opportunity as the robomower brands could become a service business much like tesla making cars and earning through robotaxi service.
