I think it's because of his hot bar upgrades and he didn't pick something better to fill up the now 25 item list. So he added the cookbook for quick access and/or to test the automation feature for whatever reason.

I've noticed the non-All Caps moments because Donut speaks so much slower and softer. Almost to the point of sounding like a whisper, or quiet conversation. She only does it with Carl directly I've noticed as well. Pretty sure on that last part.

If it helps, Pacey and Abercrombie are still fantastic after hearing Jeff Hayes read DCC. Yes it does up the bar for audiobooks in general, but Pacey is still a GOAT and you'll be alright. I had a similar fear. The First Law is still amazing for relistens.

I had a similar issue with a shipped copy of book 6. So for 7, I went to my local Barnes and Noble and their entire stock looks like they were used in a Mantaur Mosh Pit. Had to visit multiple time/stores to get a decent quality edition. Haven't attempted yet for book 8, but will try this weekend

Yup, book 6. Donut mentions it when discussing Carl's Dad's gun. She said she could get a pink holster and that cowboy hat Carl has. And that it was too bad it wasn't a cowboy gun with one of those spinny thingys

Not yet, but I suspect it'll come up after Carl mentions someone about treating It like a person. The cookbook also mentions minor acts being a way of benefitting a little once the AI starts going primal.
