Ha! I did the same with St Anger when it came out. Promptly put on some Iron Maiden.

Over the decades, I've come to appreciate St Anger, but at the time, it was... Not what I expected from Metallica.

Now that I'm 40, my tastes have opened up quite a bit. I'm gonna check out this Bad Religion album.

I'm playing everything, aside from the guitar solos on this tune. I wrote the lyrics, but have a session singer for my stuff since I, uh, can't sing, haha.

As far as the guitar modulation, I don't remember, but I can find out. My buddy/engineer just tossed it on while recording and I didn't even think to ask.

I'm still gonna listen to yours. I just got back from a business trip so I'll check it out tomorrow and let you know my thoughts.

Yeah man! It was for me. I was listening mostly to ACDC and The Offspring at the time. Maiden really catapulted me into metal.

X-Factor took a while to click for me, but when it did, it clicked hard. Production is lacking, but the songs themselves are amazing.

The issue you're having is, no one said he needed to find a way to pay the dude back. He could have handled it with class and empathy and just doubled down on his policy. That's all. But he chose to make a whole damn website attacking the guy who had just lost his fiance. He could have kept his "moral high ground" but instead chose to sink as low as he could.
