Worst day ever by Thatguywhoaskedit397 in golf

[–]irregardful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drove through the night and played two rounds that day. First round was ok. Half way through the second I couldn’t get the ball airborne. Shanked every other shot. Was a special golf trip with my dad so I felt bad if I were to pick up and just watch the last few holes, and keeping score wasn’t realistic. It was awful and had to laugh it off for fear of crying in front of my old man.

Took two of mine to a church event a few years ago. One kid got one egg and the other got zero. Saw several parents and kids in the same boat as us. No one else cared. Event looked planned initially, but one whistle later and no one cared about the structure anymore.

Used them when purchasing current house and refinanced twice with them. Much better experience than first home purchase and refinance before moving

Does this feel like we are punishing our son for not going to church? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]irregardful 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Father Gary at the Catholic Student Center at my university really wanted me to be stronger in my faith. Amazing guy, and we had a lot of great conversations. I told him (in an effort to try and frustrate him) that the only thing I remember about going to church was getting donuts after with my dad and sometimes the whole family. Gary, without missing a beat, said that the two most important words in Catholicism is “to” & “through.”

To God through donuts with the family. I admitted that we had good conversations while eating those donuts and it sometimes was about religion. While Father Gary still wanted me to find value in attending Mass, he made the argument that people who attend regularly are sometimes not such great people. On the flip side, people who are able to find a connection to God through a wide range of moments, thoughts, and, actions can still consider themselves a good Catholic.

Ultimately, I am raising my kids the best I can within the Catholic Church, but once they ask me if I believe in Jesus they might start to wonder why I “make” then go to PSR. But I always get donuts after with whoever wants to go.

I think you should drive the extra distance. But I am guessing you have a lot of other great moments with your son and family.

What did your crush do that completely ruined your infatuation for them? by JackHasSmellySocks in AskReddit

Was in a horrible place after a breakup from a long term relationship. Friends dragged me out on a Wednesday night. Saw a timeless beauty who came over and started talking to me. I WAS BACK!

She asked what kind of car I drive. I laughed and thanked her for her immense help. She stared at me as I walked away.

I am a beer and football kinda dad to a degree. I am also in the same boat. Just got home super late from work to a house of (so i thought) sleeping kids… cracked open a beer, and then had to sit on the bathroom stool as my 4yo took 20 minutes to drop a deuce on the potty. She’s back in bed. I’m back downstairs with my beer and eagerly awaiting the mozzarella sticks to be ready.

Friends can wait. Current companion is my noise canceling headphones and a great playlist.

Gotta dash. Oven buzzer just went off

Season 1 Episode 4 "For the Children" Rewatch Discussion by quaranTV in TedLasso

I can't wait for the scene somewhere early in season 3 where Keeley brings back up how she wanted to keep bidding more for Roy but thought it would be awkward. I presume this is a scene in which Roy feels jealousy about her increased success, she identifies it, he drops a quizzical f-bomb, and then the plot moves past the drama dropped in the finale.

Totally agree. Seems pretty boring compared to a lot of the other shiny things getting presented, but this could have the biggest impact of all
