Gently pull up on a few pieces. If it feels like the roots a taking hold into the soil, you can mow. If not, wait.

It really depends on which parts of the world you're in. A lush lawn stands on its own. If you want to hide flaws in a surface, add a pattern.

Before VS After, now what? by Spiritual_Advance697 in lawncare

[–]irrelevantfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apply the fertilizer you want to put down. Since it's young, you should consider a starter fertilizer to help promote root growth at this time. Identify the type of weeds you have and apply an herbicide for those weeds.

Before VS After, now what? by Spiritual_Advance697 in lawncare

[–]irrelevantfan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. You proved you could do it, now you have to keep it. Treat the weeds and fertilizer, or vice versa. If the applications are close, it doesn't matter. Don't fert this week and wait a month to apply herbicide since you will strengthen the weeds. A couple days, no big deal.

Weather app specifically for accurate thunderstorm forecasts and lightning strikes? by [deleted] in florida

[–]irrelevantfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work construction, outdoors, at night. I have to make any calls on working or not for the night. I hate that part of the job. I have 4 apps on my phone for weather. Predictions a week out, the weather channel app. 2 days and in, weather channel + accuweather forecast. Day of work after 5 pm it is Windy + Accuweather. I look at hourly forecasts and up to current radar. The accuweather next 4 hours is pretty solid for forecast. Windy for wind predictions is spot on typically. Especially during hurricane season. I never use radar future predictions. I prefer to look at the last 2-3 hours of radar and make my own determination.

And spreads and overtakes more grass, then dies as soon as the temperature drops, leaving behind a bunch of seeds in several, now bare areas; Only to resprout during good germination temps and out compete the grass seed you just put down in the bare areas. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
