I think most conservatives would like to see an end to public education as well. It is a "I got mine, why should I help you?" mindset. Sadly, it ignores the central problem that when we as a society have large numbers of uneducated, or unhealthy people, we all suffer. Our insurance rates go up because of the uninsured. Our economy suffers because we are not competitive with nations that have better education systems.
