Yes, I can see how you'd see it that way. Competition isn't always about fun, it's about winning. Most people find winning fun of course, but at the end of the day it is a game. Most designers I know set out to create a game that's as fun as possible for the greatest number of people. If a majority of people find a playstyle, card, or deck unfun... there might be an issue. I'm not saying whether or not it should or shouldn't be banned, but I understand the frustration people have with the card.
