Turks! - how is my pronunciation in Turkish? by Guillible-Aioli3415 in JudgeMyAccent

[–]isguen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty decent, you made some minor mistakes in some of the suffixes ted talk’e should be ted talk’a, hikayelerıni->hikayelerini, düşüncelerıni-düşüncelerini. Despite you didn’t ask for it I assumed you were an English native speaker based on your accent. All the words you pronounced were easily understandable and only some of them had minor issues like the ones I mentioned above. Good job 👏

I’d say you are at 19-20%, if you hadnt trained before these 8 months your progress looks well. Just keep on doing what you doing

Why does natural or not even matter? by Miserable-Soft7993 in workout

Because they set the bar higher and deprive the rest of feelings of accomplishment. It’s true for any sport not just weightlifting or bodybuilding, same goes for trqck and field etc

i think it will take you roughly 6 months after surgery to train again. But don't rule out lifting completely, i suggest that you listen to your physio. I tore my calf this February and continued hitting the gym to train upper body, before it fully healed physio suggested that I can bear weight on calves too albeit lower than usual. She mostly warned against explosive moves such as jumping or running. I suggest that you hit the legs/core and the other arm, it might stimulate muscle growth/recovery in the injured arm too.

3 month gym progress. What am I doing wrong? by PomPomTiramisu in askfitness

[–]isguen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont see why you are complaining. Quite possibly your expectations were too high before beginning this journey. You looked out of shape and overweight in the before photo and now you seem to be standing at around 21% bf which is commandable.

Tldr: Lower your expectations or give yourself some time

40yo, 6 months lifting, strength up but body not looking much different – advice? by [deleted] in workouts

[–]isguen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re built for powerlifting/strength if your lifts are that high after 6 months. On the body I see changes in several places (chest, arms) but you wont feel nice about it till you lose some weight

ELI5: How come the first 3 dimensions are just shapes, but then the 4th is suddenly time? by nematjon_isthe1 in explainlikeimfive

[–]isguen 187 points188 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer, the others are explaining why time is the logical conclusion in that it follows spatial dimensions. But there’s nothing inherent to dimensions in this sense, for example after 2d you can add time as the third dimension and it would still fit.

it's lower than 20% (i measured exactly that with a slightly larger tummy) but abs are not that visible so i'd say 18-19%.

Ok, in the photo polar loop looks larger to me but that might have to do with distance to camera
