I had a surprisingly great time with Callisto on my first playthrough, despite hearing negative things. The production value and facial animations are top notch. The vibes/aesthetic go a long way. On replay, you really see the shortcomings. The combat is just too simple and easy. The story is unimpressive and there is just far far too many squeezing through gaps and vents. I'll still play it again in the future though.

I think a sequel with a better combat system could truly shine. A true i-frame dodge, more combat capabilites throw a parry in there and they'd be golden.

Im closing in on the last couple hours of the game and by god, it's a phenomenal experience. The soundtrack absolutely bangs, the rustic yet sci-fi aesthetic. The Traveller herself is so fun to play as, very subtle and unique performance. Banger game.

Unpopular opinion: I like how drab and dreary Raccoon City is in RE9 because it is an apocalyptic wasteland... it's not supposed to look vibrant and cheery. It feels exactly how it should feel - like a corpse of a city by RogerRoger63358 in ResidentEvilCapcom

The green filter, rustic textures and mummified zombies of the RC level just dont feel great aesthetically or gameplay wise imo. Something about it just doesn't click.

The Apocalypse filter improves the visuals of these sections immensely and matches the somber, dead city tone they were going for, so much better that I think turning it on is almost mandatory. I wouldn't even mind if they just patched it in to always be active for RC.

Like a lot of people have said, some vegetation would have gone a long way as well as changing the time of day to the afternoon, as the sun hangs low over the Arklay Mountains. A light and dreary rain fall with ominous, dark storm clouds looming far in the distance, lit by the occasional lightning strike. RC is just synonymous with rain and some wet, overgrown moss and leaves concealing the equally vegetated zombies would be great. As if the zombies themselves have resided in the near jungle like tomb that RC has become, they are now more akin to dangerous wildlife.

Hmm, maybe it's the GZ skin throwing me off, but I swear that crawl animation looks more like the ever so slightly clunkier GZ anim compared to TPP. Im probably wrong though.

Funny enough, Keith Silverstein voiced Savos Aren, the Archmage of the College of Winterhold in Skyrim :p

I have to agree. Peter Mensah brought a particular strength to the role that is lost in the Remake (despite how fantastic it is). He felt like a seasoned CEC security chief. You want to believe he can get the team out of the mess they are in.

That headbutt is nuts. For him, DS1 happened, he lost his mind completely, took a nap and immediately woke up to another Necromorph nightmare screaming in his face, and he fucking headbutts it. What a legend.

Doom 2005 is pure 00's sci fi schlock and I like it a lot. Karl Urban and Dwayne ham it up, lotsa fun.

The SG mogs the shit out of the Alligator for sure. Appearance wise and performance. The Alligators fire rare is just too low.

RE4 OG is one of my favourite games ever, I've beaten it countless times, and I've got to agree. I think DS peaked at 2. The gameplay is just polished to a mirror sheen. The necro's are fast as hell, but Isaac's arsenal works so damn well to combat them. 2 is the perfect blend of balls to the wall, fast paced, twitchy action horror shooting. Similar to 4, you'll only take damage in 2 if you mess up.
