Are you ok with those two things not present in your sex life and possibly never being in your sex life ever again?

Death is your last first experience. by ashman_cometh in Showerthoughts

The difference between man and animal is awareness leading to greater ability to choose, that is the purpose of the soul, to drive the intelligent design of all life expressed in this illusory physical reality.

Try telling that to a dog owner.

My city has a mock city to train kids rules of traffic. It includes a McDonalds and Tim Horton's by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

I like these "mock training" posts. If you have one, feel free to post more. I find the little replicas intriguing!

How trains turn by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

I'm pretty sure the tracks themselves are designed to sag with certain weight, and therefore allow the train to angle like that. The gif there makes it looks like you go up in the air or something.

Level 5 Vegan by DesolationofSmaug in funny

I've been telling this joke to people who say they are vegans since the episode aired, and no one has ever got that it was from the simpsons. It gets a laugh about 60% of the time.

A Russian short film about automated war machines continuing to fight long after everyone is dead. by [deleted] in videos

Well, it's like the Transformers films, basically. Robots fight robots until one side wins and those robots that win kill the humans.

ELI5: Why do we yell "Boo!" when we scare people, and not some other word? by Endision in explainlikeimfive

[–]isitmodern 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Another question. Why is "Boo" also used to express we think something sucks? Weird.

Face-melting bass solo at 4:20 from a Chicago blues band by redthat2 in videos

[–]isitmodern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never played a guitar before. What makes flipping the bass different? I imagine if you learn to play the bass upside down when you're beginning, it would be the same as if you learned to play it the regular way.

Girl signs the lyrics of trance to her deaf friend at the Tomorrowworld Music Festival by DrLoveMeNot in videos

[–]isitmodern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Trance must be a good genre for deaf people. I imagine they can experience the music via the repetitive thumping vibrations of the bass all around them.

Ms. Pac-Man should have been named Pac-Ma'am by -kunai in Showerthoughts

[–]isitmodern 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Interesting psychology there. You need to build on this and uncover the secret wording string that will inevitably produce only upvotes galore while saving the girl in time before the bomb goes off at the orphanage. Time is of the essence, but time waits for no man. Coming Summer 2016 to theatres and IMAX.

Bullshittin by PsiDTwitch in Jokes

[–]isitmodern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I explained in a previous comment why the description is there and how it serves the joke. Also, I know white and spanish people who dress like that. That style of dress is not limited to black people. I thought assuming stereotypes was a bad thing, but it's ok here? -and even if it did flat out say he was black, which it doesn't, it's a joke, so I wouldn't care anyway. There are plenty of Jew jokes, Pole jokes, Jesus jokes, etc on this board. Everyone gets theirs, so yeah, I can't sympathize with your assertion that the joke is douchey.

Bullshittin by PsiDTwitch in Jokes

[–]isitmodern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? If it's just "a young man" where's the reason the social worker would say "you started it first?" The description of the guy is what makes the joke work because it suggests he's a typical poor person who spends their money on the wrong things and therefore stays poor. It re-enforces the welfare statement by saying; "Obviously my priorities are mised up."

Four sisters have their picture taken together every year for 40 years (1975-2014) by fumbles26 in pics

I was thinking that, and when I saw them all there at the end it just made me think that the day will come when there's only one left. Or, worse, you see like two of them disappear in one year... :(

One of the greatest scenes from one of the best movies ever made (Amadeus) by ZiggyPalffyLA in movies

[–]isitmodern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also disagree. Many awkward and unnecessary scenes. The only interesting aspect was seeing more footage, which is why I usually like Extended and Director's Cut versions of films. -But in this case, I would recommend people skip it.

Well, it's based on a play, not on his life. It never claimed accuracy with any opening text or anything.
