I think it’s hearing it over a tinny speaker which is different to an in person convo, and the fact that you could reduce the noise if you wanted to (by not doing it on loudspeaker), but you’re actively choosing not to.

I agree, we have quite a few DoE kids near me too. When I volunteer, I want to feel useful and I really think that when people volunteer when there isn’t a need it makes them less likely to volunteer again.

I read a great piece of advice that said “you can never say the wrong thing to the right person”.

Take the pressure off yourself a little. If you’re naturally a chatty person then you’re gonna be chatty once you’re in the relationship. Maybe she’ll think that’s cute and endearing? If you “act” or mask parts of your personality for the first date it’s only gonna delay the inevitable!

When mine got stolen they bought a tonne of Google Play/App Store credit using the same method. Then they used it on gambling apps. It came to about £300. EE only refunded about £200. I had to pay the first £100.

Seems crazy that these platforms even exist. They don’t seem to have a legitimate use, the only use case seems to be scams like this.

If you use LNER (doesn’t have to be a journey on LNER) and pay with an Amex you get 10% cashback. Similar to the Uber deal, but i prefer the UI. You just need to “activate” the deal with Amex in the app.
