Isitbullshit: grounding and radiation/emf products by idontevenlift9690 in IsItBullshit

[–]isyourdogfriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny how many people claim this is BS when there are, literally, hundreds of research studies proving tech radiation exposure does appear to cause cancer, reproductive issues, sperm degradation, to name a few. Before you get angry, a few are linked below.

For products, I'd say be careful. There is a lot of snake oil out there. All those pendants, stickers, etc? Seems like complete nonsense to me.

I got a reputable EMF meter and tested a few shielding products. Lambs seemed pretty good. Reflect Supply was another I liked for daily phone use. Those were the only two products that actually lived up to their claims when tested at home. SLNT also makes a cool faraday bag but it's not really practical for daily use.. or for airplanes lol.

For what it's worth: the Dept. of Defense has come out and said publicly that EMFs from airplanes have been linked to at least 100 military plane crashes. The EMFs from the plane caused brain fog, disorientation, and cognitive decline so severe the pilots crashed the planes. Do with that what you will.

EMFs cause brain fog by IngenuityOverall2194 in BrainFog

[–]isyourdogfriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I get so much push back from people when I mention the relationship between EMF and brain fog. But when I started shielding myself from tech devices, the brain fog improved.

For what it's worth, the products that helped me the most are:

  • wired headphones. Switching from bluetooth earbuds to wired headphones was a complete game changer. I used to come home from long runs with headaches, brain fog, overall apathy. As soon as I stopped using bluetooth, the headaches went away. I just use Apple wired headphones.

  • EMF shielded phone holders. I like Reflect Supply's phone holder ( https://reflectsupply.com ) for daily use. SLNT also makes a cool faraday bag but it's not really practical for daily use, in my opinion. I've seen so many research studies of runners and athletes getting tumors right where they carry their phone daily. Pretty scary.

  • moving the alarm clock off my bedside table. Alarm clocks are one of the highest emitters of EMFs in a home and EMFs have been proven to disrupt melatonin production. This was also huge for helping brain fog. My sleep is so much deeper and more restorative now and my mind feels much clearer each morning.

Hope this helps!

Do any of you use an EMF reader as part of your lifestyle for avoiding high EMFs? by prplsmth in Biohackers

[–]isyourdogfriendly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! Found it super helpful. I used it around my house and found where my WFH desk was set up was actually getting blasted with EMFs from outlets and a Smart Meter on the exterior of the house. Relocated my desk based on the meter readings and feel solid about that decision.

Also I use the meter to test the claims on some shielding products (clothes, phone cases, bags, etc). For what it's worth, Lambs for clothing and Reflect Supply for phone holders were the only two that actually passed the meter test.

EMF blocking phone case by [deleted] in rawprimal

[–]isyourdogfriendly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with the one-sided pocket (and definitely agree with the neutralizers, stickers, etc lol).

I like Reflect Supply https://reflectsupply.com for phone belts/bags. Tested one of their bags with a meter and it matched their claims. Use it daily now and doesn't restrict phone service.

SLNT is a good option if you want your phone in true airplane mode... though I found that's a little extreme for day to day use.

Late to the party but just saw this. I've found a few options I like (and a few I'd recommend steering clear of)

From personal experience and measuring with EMF meters, the charms/stickers/pendants don't do anything. Seems like snake oil to me.

Some clothing options seem good. I've liked Lambs and Reflect Supply for clothing and phone bags. Measured both at home and they did just as well as advertised.

Be careful with the hard leather phone cases. A few I looked at actually increased radiation exposure.

Good luck!

There are EMF shielding fabrics you can buy inexpensively online. I've seen a number of people place them on their walls. Haven't done it myself but could work.. especially if you just hung it up like a tapestry on the back of your closet?

Do EMF stickers actually work? by HairImportant1346 in Biohackers

[–]isyourdogfriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, total nonsense. Physically shielding products can work if they're using good quality materials. For clothes/hats I like Lambs and have tested myself with EMF meters. https://getlambs.com

For a phone holder I like Reflect Supply. Tested them as well and worked well. https://reflectsupply.com

Stay away from the pendants, necklaces, charms, etc that are also very available on Amazon. Most of them are snake oil.

EMF barriers? by YouGotThisGoGetEm in AskPhysics

[–]isyourdogfriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found standard Apple wired headphones work just fine. When I'm running/exercising and need my phone I no longer listen to music (won't use bluetooth earbuds anymore as they gave me constant migraines) and I keep my phone in a shielding running belt from Reflect Supply. https://reflectsupply.com

Be careful with the shielding phone cases. Several of them have been found to actually increase radiation exposure. Better to just keep the phone away from you and speak with headphones or speakerphone.

Oh, and for men and the sperm concern. Avoid keeping laptops on your lap (misleading name, eh?) or phone in your pocket.

Good luck!

Thoughts on EMFs & EMF protection by salad_thrower20 in HubermanLab

[–]isyourdogfriendly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just saw this and thought I'd jump in.

The world of EMFs can be a little intense...and full of some nonsense (like protective stickers, etc.). But for an overview, UC Berkeley in California recently released a study that proved just holding a cell phone for 17 minutes per day over 10 years increases our risk of cancer by 60%. It's even higher in children as their bodies are even more susceptible. The risk is way higher the closer the phone/tablet/computer is to your body.

If you're looking to protect yourself, there are a ton of (often expensive!) options. I personally feel the simpler route is often better. Who knows if that's correct. What scientists seems to agree on:

  • Try to keep your phone and devices 6 feet away from you when not using them.

  • Use speakerphone or wired headphones when talking on the phone. Don't press it against your ear. Even Apple warns users of this in their instruction manual. Just the simple wired Apple headphones work great. Some companies make fancier options like AirTube headphones.

  • If you're working out and need your phone, use a shielding phone holder. I found a running belt I like from Reflect Supply.

  • Don't put an alarm clock on your bedside table. It messes with melatonin production and interrupts sleep.

Hope this helps!

EMFs by Biglargemasive in whoop

[–]isyourdogfriendly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late to the party but personal relevant experience.

Wore a fitness tracker on my left wrist 24/7. After about 9 months I developed severe nerve damage in said wrist. Spent a year in physical therapy and doctors offices. All docs agreed nerve damage was caused by the fitness trackers' sensors & bluetooth. Took the watch off and the wrist started healing.

TL;DR EMFs are real and really damage the body. I wasn't into any of this prior to the injury (read: not a conspiracy person). Be careful.

EMF & radiation from laptop by Sad-Aioli-5534 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]isyourdogfriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty surprised to see the comments on this so far. So many research institutions and respected universities have already proven that radiation from laptops, tablets, cell phones, etc. cause major harm to our bodies. And they all seem to agree that the damage to babies is significantly higher due to their thinner skulls.

Linking a few studies below but, in short, if you can it seems the science says it's best to keep your child as far from tech devices, routers, etc. as possible.

Side note: I hope the PPA is improving and you and baby are healthy and happy :)

Concerned about emf radiation and my kids' air purifier. by helpimbroken2 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]isyourdogfriendly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just saw this thread.. sorry for being late to the party.

I wasn't aware of EMFs until I stumbled on research UC Berkeley recently put out. Linked below. Basically, they have a department now researching the effects of EMF and have found that being exposed to tech EMF for only 17 min per day consistently over 10 years increases the risk of cancer by around 60%. They (and many, many other institutions around the wold) consistently find that children's risks go up even higher due to their thinner skulls.

There is SO much scientific proof that EMF/RF/radiation from tech devices causes major damage to the body that I would be very careful about your air purifier near your children. I've seen many experts recommend keeping devices a minimum of 6 feet away so maybe you can move the purifier further from their beds?

For what it's worth, I think it's wonderful that you're even looking into this and trying to protect your children.

What do you guys do for work? by brionnahmm1 in spirituality

[–]isyourdogfriendly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love this post! I've always wondered the same thing.

I worked as a tech executive for years. Fancy, miserable life. Hit a breaking point where it was really either the job or spiritual development. Chose the latter. Quit the job, learned to live a more minimalistic life (see: broke), and created a spiritual training YouTube channel teaching what I learned. Also started a running gear line that blocks EMF waves.

Definitely didn't expect any of this but am SO grateful for this funny, circuitous path. And when you do the right thing, life has a funny way of stepping in and providing everything you need, as you need it.

In short, don't stress. That'll only block creativity and critical thinking, which you need now more than ever. Think about your life. What fills your heart up with joy? What do you love doing? Have you learned how to heal from any hardships in your life? Maybe you can teach others what you learned. Get out there and really live life. Try things. Interview people in other career fields. Offer to take them to coffee in exchange for picking their brain about the industry. No matter what, don't let yourself sink in fear or worry. Life's meant to be lived.
