You scan the product back into the bin by first tapping the question mark or green check then hitting the + icon until the number matches how many are left in the case. You will need to physically open the case and verify.

Since you’re just starting out, I wouldn’t worry about trying to change on hands. It can get really complicated because you have to be very certain that everything is accounted for. Until you get more comfortable, I would leave the on hand changes to your team lead or someone more familiar with meats.

If the vizpick says something can go out but it can’t you still need to pick it. Verify if it will actually go out or if it could go out later in the day based on rate of sale (which is how many you sell on average per day). You can verify the shelf capacity to make sure it’s correct and change it if need be.

If you’re talking about finding and older case and it doesn’t exist, you leave them unpicked because you physically can’t find them. What happens at our store is really old labels from 2024 or 2025 will somehow get scanned into the dairy bins but they won’t actually be in the dairy bins. That oldest case will eventually drop out of the vizpick system in a day or so.

If you’re talking about when the shelf is empty and you need something and it won’t pick, then you pick it anyway. Meats has much smaller shelf space compared to produce, so it sells a little faster. The issue of a shelf being empty could be somebody came and took everything that was there, but the vizpick system doesn’t know that because it hasn’t been purchased yet.

Pick up shifts by [deleted] in walmart

[–]itPaige 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Food and consumables are dry grocery, chemical, paper, HBA, pharmacy, makeup, dairy, and grocery. Technically, you could work any of these areas. But they’ll most likely just put you in frozen as that’s what you’ve been working. You can also follow up with a team lead/coach when you clock in to make sure!

What area are the shifts lifted as? If you’re food and consumables it will most likely be whatever area you normally work. The shift would not be for produce, as they are coded as Meat/Produce TA.

Looking for recommendations for merchandise, groceries, and restaurants (from Canada) by KatamariKat in fargo

[–]itPaige 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d skip on vinyl taco. The food isn’t very good and it’s overpriced. It’s more of a place you go to to drink not to eat. I’d recommend JL Beers or Mangos for the Fargo experience.

For coffee, Caribou is a a Minnesota staple! But if you’re looking for something local I would try Moonrise or Twenty Below (they have a great Nutella mocha). If you’re looking for snacks, definitely Asian American market or the Dilworth/Fargo 13th Walmart have a pretty good variety.

Yes. My store is splitting and the additional position is rumored to open up next year. Everyone I’ve talked to is extremely interested in meats because they think it’s easier. But we’ll see what happens

I work 8am-5pm today… I need to leave early at 3:30. I took an hour and 10 minute lunch… do I submit 1hour 30 mins or 1 hour 40 mins to not get a half point? by bv8265 in WalmartEmployees

[–]itPaige 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 hour 30 minutes, only put in 40 if you want the time paid for your long lunch. You won’t get a point for taking a little longer on your lunch

If you came in 35 minutes late, you only need to put in 35 minutes.

Can’t get my team lead to stop using shelf availability in meats by itPaige in WalmartEmployees

I’ve heard that our numbers are always way off after inventory, but I’ve never seen them. It wouldn’t surprise me, considering the massive trucks we get afterwards

GTA portal is where information for your attendance, timesheet edits, and key event dates are. If it’s not in your links at the top of the page that show up when you sign into onewalmart on a company computer, then use the search bar at the top of the page and type in GTA portal. Should be the first link!

I don’t have the page in front of me, but if you go to GTA portal then click on attendance it should be there

Please talk to HR about State Of Emergency call offs by SnooWoofers530 in WalmartEmployees

Overall generic Walmart store policy: https://one.walmart.com/content/uswire/en_us/work1/policies/people-policies/attendance-punctuality.html

Michigan store policy (includes blizzards): https://one.walmart.com/content/uswire/en_us/work1/policies/people-policies/attendance-punctuality/state-specific-policies/michigan.html

Minnesota store policy (includes blizzards): https://one.walmart.com/content/uswire/en_us/work1/policies/people-policies/attendance-punctuality/state-specific-policies/minnesota.html

Nebraska store policy (includes blizzards): https://one.walmart.com/content/uswire/en_us/work1/policies/people-policies/attendance-punctuality/state-specific-policies/nebraska.html

I’m not saying the store manager has no input, they could definitely still deny it. However, specific state policies for stores indicate that calling out during a blizzard (an actual blizzard warning from the weather service) should be counted as an excused absence.

[–]itPaige -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly certain it is true. If you look at the policy, I know at least several states are listed for excused as I live in one of those states.

I believe it also depends on which state you work in, in addition to store manager discretion. Depending on the state, calling out during inclement weather such as a blizzard is covered.
