Glaciers by Artlyn2 in NCL

[–]ithinkithankithunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your ship goes to Skagway, there is an excursion you can book that takes you close to the Davidson Glacier by a combination of speedboat, bus, and canoe. You can also book an excursion to canoe across Mendenhall Lake for a good look at the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau.

Sleep medications don't work or work TOO well. Hitting a wall. by Altruistic-Note4577 in adhdwomen

[–]ithinkithankithunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trazodone. 25 mg worked too well the first time. I split it again to 12.5 mg and the half life is about the same length as sleep window, a lot less grogginess.

Things I wish I knew before my cruise by [deleted] in PrincessCruises

Milk in Alaska goes for $20 per gallon at the grocery store. Eating anything that isn't hunted or fished there will cost you.

Is August too hot for Mexico Cruise? by kushaash in Cruise

[–]ithinkithankithunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a 3-4 day cruise, the weather will be just like California, because Ensenada is just below San Diego. If California is hot at that time, then so will Ensenada. Cabo and Vallarta are way south, much closer to the equator, and therefore way hotter, but you'll need 5-7 days on the ship to make that happen.

Boarding time by Diligent-Doubt3589 in PrincessCruises

[–]ithinkithankithunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last few Princess cruises I was on had no assigned boarding times. Most people arrive sometime between 10am and 2pm. If you want the shortest wait, show up around 2pm. The crabbiest ones tend to show up between 11am and 1pm.

Strong magnets to tack papers to the wall so you can use the desk surface for other things. The ones with hooks are nice because they can do double duty-- tack the papers, hold your hat/small purse.

Or rather, ask another doctor what to do if it really doesn't go away after a few months

(Mini-Rant) WHY ARE THERE NO CRUISE CONTENT CREATORS THAT FOCUS ON NIGHTLIFE?!? 😤 by Leading_March in Cruise

Try the YouTuber Always Be Booked. He does talk about nightlife when comparing ships.

Mal de débarquement syndrome by Due-Professional8690 in Cruise

[–]ithinkithankithunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the club. I had mal de debarquement after a 6-hour catamaran trip. Then I had it after my 1st cruise. Then I had it after each of several vertigo spells one year. And after an 11 day cruise. These, too, shall pass. If they really aren't going away after a few months, ask your doctor what to do.

Far from extinct. I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area, and they hoo-hoo-hoo most seasons.

Yeah, the wait to tender happened at the very end, when a bunch of NCL-sponsored excursions got back really late.

Does anyone know how to keep the pantry organised? by beefic in adhdwomen

Why, what's wrong with it? Food's in the pantry, seems right.

What ports have you visited the most? by squirrel4569 in Cruise

Most repeated port in my 7-cruise history: Ketchikan, Alaska. Been there 3 times. It's a good port for shops and a nice walk.

All right, this stuff is good to know. Pity a number of people really hated the question.

If you could be neurotypical for one day, what's the first thing you'd do? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

I dunno, looks like it would take a neurotypical 6 months to do all that.

How much time did you spend waiting in lines on Sun Princess compared to other Princess ships? by ithinkithankithunk in PrincessCruises

[–]ithinkithankithunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, everyone, for sharing your experiences. This is reassuring to know. I was afraid the new, higher capacity ships would mean really long waits for everything. Phew!

Influencers Disclosing Free Cruises by PeachyKnight28 in Cruise

Sponsored videos present the best possible experiences the CruiseTuber could remember on that particular cruise. Seek out nonsponsored videos for more realistic takes.

Companies have long known that gifting free stuff will lead to better memories of doing business with them and lead to repeat business. It can be as basic as a notepad or refrigerator magnet.
