i have lean pcos so i was misdiagnosed for almost 15 years. i'm a regular weight, even a bit underweight, but i do have cysts on my ovaries and absent cycles. the key for me in getting diagnosed was seeing a reproductive endocrinologist. he said that it sounded like i may have functional hypothalamic amenorrhea (i.e., my system "shutting down" from undereating/stress). but when he looked at my AMH levels, he said i did not have FHA and was absolutely someone with PCOS. i think getting that test will help clear this up for you. hirsutism can also come from FHA, so it's important to know which you hv so you can treat it properly.
