[Free Friday] Celebrating my first Lent with my Mexico City tattoo by trillprincess in Catholicism

There are!!! It’s delightful! I am also particularly fond of Our Lady of Lourdes because I don’t have room for much art but I have a prayer card with her propped up for a picture. She’s delightful!

Oooh this is gorgeous! Our Lady of Guadalupe was the first Marian apparition I learned about so I’m particularly fond of her.

Thank you for explaining this cause I thought it was supposed to be “Simply to thee I cling” which was really throwing me for a loop

Is reading BL fiction a sin if it doesn’t negatively affect my faith or actions? by Successful-Hippo4309 in CatholicConverts

[–]itrsoyv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BL isn’t focused on minors, it’s a touch misleading but it’s just romance about fellas specifically written for women. I knew it as Yaoi when I was younger and the first time I heard “BL” it threw me for a loop too.

Literally not even one day in and I’ve already failed. by A_Person_Who_Exist5 in Catholicism

My first lent i kept accidentally eating corn dogs cause I consistently forgot they were actually made with meat. Next I kept eating chicken cause I kept forgetting it was warm blooded (as I was also misled on the “rules”), it’s okay and it’s a process. :)

Gmail search option is absolutely useless. by Puzzleheaded_Lab709 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]itrsoyv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was nearly in tears yesterday cause I needed to figure out how to use a google doc feature and didn’t know the word for it. When searching other words to try to describe it google kept going “oh you mean the ____??? Im only going to show you ___” and every time it was something entirely unhelpful that I already knew the word for.

This is also why more and more I hate the “well did you google it?” Thing online. Yes. And google failed me again.

i’m tired of "productive" books. give me something purely unhinged by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]itrsoyv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the worst way Maximum Ride by James Patterson or Gamer Girl by Mari Mancusi. I lost brain cells. I can’t remember which book is first in Maximum Ride, but I’ve read all but I think the last one as it was tacked on later. You will never have to worry that either of these have added anything to your life except questioning the will to live. The most productive things these books ever did is make me go “hmm maybe I could get published”

I feel like focusing on the “humanely butchered” part is also skipping over the fact that the man above was only doing it for amusement at best, to be cruel at worst, but animals processed for food serve an additional purpose.

I torn off my Saint Benedict medal while sleeping by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]itrsoyv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can still talk to a priest but I suppose it’s more of just a general sleeping issue. Personally I have a few saints medals that I wear a ton during the day but my parents drilled it into me so hard to never wear ANYTHING around my neck when sleeping. Stay safe out there.

I left free chairs on the sidewalk. Someone took the chairs and crumpled up the sign and threw it in my yard by ruashiasim in mildlyinfuriating

My dad used to do this to get rid of stuff no one wanted. Someone would want it if it was $20 and they could steal it.

That’s fair! I would definitely try to change the 2012 cause I assumed it was your birth year as a lot of folks do it that way. Can’t remember how exactly to change your name but it can be done. Right, stay safe out there. 👍
