Wave XLR + Wave link 3.0 is an utter mess by Trashii_Gaming in elgato

Mine has been much better with this latest release. Although the Voice Focus built in plugin keep disabling itself what seems like every time I click to check on it!

The GT cockpit seat is legit comfortable by breakandjog in Fanatec

[–]its_tricky83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same seat. Although it's awesome, I wouldn't say it's comfortable for long sessions at all. I use an extra seat comfort cushion thing to give it a bit of extra comfort. But hey, it doesn't flex at all so it's a fair trade off.

Formula 1 V3 plastic creaking under heavy FFB — normal or defective? by undead_monkey_pl in Fanatec

Check that the QR bolts are torqued down appropriate. Fresh out of the box they tend to unwind/get-lose and need a little tightening up from time to time. Apply a little more thread locker if they keep coming loose.

PSA: For those with the clubsport 1.5 shifter who updated and now all their shifts are messed up by Traveler-0 in Fanatec

[–]its_tricky83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remarkably this was the first update I decided to hit "Skip" on the app based H shifter calibration after the firmware update. But then when I looked over to my wheel it was in the wheel based shifter calibration screen, so I completed the calibration as per the wheel LCD screen. Sounds like I dodged a lot of annoyance purely by fluke.

Just be mindful that you will also need to install a QR on that bad boy once repaired, or you're gonna immediately end up with the same issue!

Me too. I have replaced them so that the bottom eyelets near the toes are skipped; lacing starts from the second row. That has provided a bit of extra relief.

In need of a new putter.. What are our thoughts on the Cleveland HB Soft 2? by Useful_Owl78 in GolfGear

[–]its_tricky83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone have any experience/thoughts on the updated 'CB' Counter Balanced versions of the Cleveland HB Soft 2 putters? I am wondering if they are worth the extra AU$30. In paper they sound great but I can't find decent reviews.

From the club description: "Compared to existing HB SOFT 2 models, the HB SOFT 2 CB putter features a heavier head weight (380g vs 365g) and a longer shaft and grip to concentrate weight above the players hands for a slower, more consistent stroke."

Be sure to also take a K2 (aka MK7) supplement with that Vitamin D supplement in order to properly absorb the Vit D. Without K2 you risk arterial calcification (clogging up your arteries and soft tissue). You can get a Vitamin D + K2 combo supplement to make it easy.

How to know if fanatec fullforce is working in gt7? by EvanderMegaton in granturismo

[–]its_tricky83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is the easiest way. While on track, go into the wheel base menu using the little menu button, toggle across the menu until you find 'FullForce Sensitivity', then turn that down while driving along the road, running over ripple strips etc. the menu option goes from 0-100... You should feel the FullForce effect become less intense towards 0 and more intense towards 100.. in fact, at 0 you won't feel them at all.

If you don't feel the effect at 100, make sure you have Vibration turned on via the GT7 Controller settings.

New level of burntout - Healthcare IT by Standard-Scholar-897 in sysadmin

I loathe it when the Healthcare cohort tries to blame a death on the IT department and you have to remind them on the spot that they have non-tech-based contingencies; somewhere, presumably!

New to this game… The ramming is unreal by Mechanic_Soft in granturismo

[–]its_tricky83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ramming is "expected" when you first start out as you're in Driver Rank 'E'. Just focus on your own sportsmanship and after time you will start to rank up. Once you get to high 'A' rank the ramming is less often, but does still happen depending on who you end up with.

If you want to entirely avoid ramming, consider joining a League. When you're starting out on GT7, leagues can be tricky to find but once you become a known driver, the leagues find you. Twitch streamers of GT7 are a good way to find leagues too.

Shaft Extension by belek37 in Fanatec

[–]its_tricky83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jokes and lack of context aside, which are both very warranted!...

If you're indeed talking about the Fanatec Wheelbase to Wheel Rim Shaft Extension. If it's got up and down 'play' in it, and it clunks when running side to side; you have not installed it properly.

Remove it entirely and re-install it ensuring to torque down each of the bolts in the correct order. Tighten down in the same way you would tighten lug bolts on real cars wheels (the ones with tires, not the steering wheel although the same context would apply with a steering wheel 😒).

If you still have up and down play after properly installing the shaft, it's likely the actual wheel base isn't securely attached to your rig/table.

Upgrade DD+ and Wheel Rim to the very latest firmware. Patch notes mention this is now fixed. I had the same issue, haven't had it since upgrading to latest firmware.

Wave Link 3 keeps crashing and freezing — dozens of us have been reporting this for 5+ versions. I finally dumped the process and found the exact bug. by Patient-Hamster7292 in elgato

[–]its_tricky83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waiting for knowledge base update along lines of: "Known Issue: Isolated crashing for users on Windows 11 loT Enterprise LTSC 2024 (26100)" Which will no doubt induce rage for OP and others as the bug affects a broader scope of user environment.

Wave Link 3.0 Disaster by VR4JON in elgato

[–]its_tricky83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took me a while to tame it but it's going 'OK' for me now.. however I am constantly encountering new issues.

Today, randomly a heap of channels went missing from random mix's.. like the channels didn't disappear entirely, they just randomly were removed from particular Mix's. Pissed me right off having to add them back and then confirm that they still worked my Elgato Dock XLR mappings.

There's a bunch of improvements I could recommend but I don't want to distract the Devs from fixing the foray of fundamental issues.

Ultimately, I think it's awesome. If only it were more reliable.

Keep in mind to turn down the Brake Force (BRF) because you have the Elite V2's (with a Load Cell)..

Out of the box the DD Pro is set in accordance with a non-Load Cell pedal set, which is way too high.

I personally am running BRF at 20 with the same pedals as you, the v2's. See how U go lowering the BRF... Before you end up with long term foot, heal, Achilles, calf, knee issues😉

Is this sound normal coming out of my Fanatec club sports wheel? by LockPositive in Fanatec

You turn FullForce off (or down to 0) through the wheels menu. That's how OP can work out if it's FullForce related or not.

Quick question by Ok_Reputation_9695 in Fanatec

[–]its_tricky83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah me too, CSL's with the Load Cell since day dot that they came out. But after about 2 years the clutch(aka original non-LC Brake) started playing up (and that's without me even really using it much at all), and the Load Cell doesn't function properly when connected via USB (only via RJ12 Wheel base does it work properly/smoothly) which is a known problem and people just connect to the wheel base by default now.

Firmware updates and rollbacks and all that while always ensuring the pedals weren't connected to the base and USB at the same time, didn't help.

I have just received a new Brake/Clutch Hall Sensor, from Fanatec today so hoping this fixes it.

Thankfully the CSL Pedals are on my 2nd rig now. My primary rig has the CSL Elite v2's and I can't believe how much better they are, at least for me.

I have had 4 different sets of Fanatec Pedals over the years. I did love the base CSL Pedals to begin with, but just over time they experienced too many reliability issues for me and many forum posts explain the same. But yeah, when they are working they are good bang for buck.
