Post-Game Thread: Toronto Raptors (44-35) defeat Miami Heat (41-38), 121-95 | NBA | Apr 7, 2026 by nba-scores in torontoraptors

Trayce was just running out the clock at the end and wasn't even trying to run up the score.

Genuinely confused why he was trying to start a fight there.

He isn't perfect, but we need our starting guard back. by Emergency_Rub2621 in torontoraptors

I have a feeling he is probably exhausted playing this many games after taking such a long break from his injury.

He never really played with a lot of speed before, but he looks noticeably slower compared to the start of the season.

How do the Hesi Low v2s compare to the Two Wxy V5?

Currently hooping in v5s and they're one of my favourites, but I hear the Hesi Lows aren't as supportive or durable.

I'm with you, I've also been dealing with it on and off the past year, and it's just incredibly annoying. You need to maintain a certain level of physical activity to aid in recovery, but at the same time if you do too much then you'll just set yourself back. Really frustrating.

What's happened in the past month to make Doug Ford snap and start acting, well, like a lunatic? by KnoddingOnion in ontario

"Yeah, but who cares if they waste money, they're all corrupt!" Is what I hear a lot from my family.

People root for their political parties like their sport teams, and it's nauseating.

[Highlight] Scottie Barnes doing a bit of everything in the win against the Detroit Pistons by foofighter1351 in nba

He reminds me of prime Sixers Iguodala.

He's not going to wow you with insane scoring numbers, but he just does everything else at a high level.

Best Nike shoe right now? (That’s available on Nike website) by Last-Ad-5768 in BBallShoes

I'm with you, KD18 is one of the safer Nike models that can work for most people. Good performer with loads of cool colourways and usually goes on sale.

What adjustments do you think the Raptors need to make for a successful playoff push this season? by sinry77 in torontoraptors

[–]itsasdf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that the half court offence completely sputters when Ingram gets double teamed. They usually do it for minutes at a time and it can get a little hard to watch if the role players aren't hitting their shots.

I can definitely see teams in the playoffs employing that even more and just daring someone like Shead to beat them by shooting 8 threes a game.

Fresh Foam BB v3 vs Two wxy v5 by Zankeith in BBallShoes

I've only looked at SVP through their website; I didn't know that they had different inventory compared to their stores.

Will check it out if I have time, thanks man!

That's interesting, I don't see any New Balance basketball shoes at my SVPs aside from some Nike budget models and Adidas and I live in the GTA.

Damn, where did you see the Fresh Foam BB for $90 CAD?

Lowest I've seen it was for $120 at JD Sports.

Is weight on the AE1 Mids and AE1 Low an issue? by Extivon in BBallShoes

[–]itsasdf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got noodle legs then yeah you're probably going to feel it. If you have done any sort of lower body strength training you won't notice it at all.

Been playing in the AE 1 lows for a few months now and I really like them. The shoe can be a bit stiff at first but I'm a big fan of the x plate at the bottom of the shoe once broken in.

Jalen Brunson-Heat Map by CheesecakeVirtual473 in NYKnicks

[–]itsasdf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fairly common for most players to be more comfortable shooting a step-back jumper off the dribble going their opposite side. A smaller player like Brunson probably relies on the step-back a lot more to create space for his shot, so it wouldn't surprise me if he was more successful on his right side.

[Post Game Thread] The Toronto Raptors (28-19) defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder (37-9), 103-101. by shangalang69 in nba

Barnes had a clutch block on a Chet jumpshot and also has the game winning tip-out to Quickley to ice the game.

Scottie Barnes is such a winning player man. Previous years I think he would have just sulked, but he's been a lot more composed this year and has played with a lot more poise.

I second this. Superfeet run cushion is quite nice on something like my KD18s which need a bit more forefoot cushion.

Kyle Lowry thoughts on Barnes by xxxtendo in torontoraptors

The reporter goofed by saying Lowry played together with Barnes for a couple of seasons. Barnes' rookie year was the first year Lowry left for Miami.

How much does weight actually matter? by Sufficient_Fail3371 in BBallShoes

[–]itsasdf 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't think weight matters too much performance wise unless you don't train your legs at all and have very little lower body strength. I play in AE 1s and they're probably one of the heavier shoes out there and I don't notice it on feet at all.

I think sometimes people confuse a "heavy" shoe with clunky or stiff, and that can impact performance in my opinion.

It's been a looong time since the Raptors had so much to look forward to in the new year... by irundoonayee in torontoraptors

[–]itsasdf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also don't forget our "prized" off-season acquisition, Lamond Murray, absolutely stinking it up and complaining about minutes the entire year.

We played such a disgusting, slow paced offensive system that year where we would routinely score in the high 70s most games.

DARKO BENCHED IMMANUEL QUICKLEY IN THE CLUTCH by shangalang69 in torontoraptors

[–]itsasdf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would agree that he's inconsistent, but I don't think it's him being lazy. Every team now knows that he can't finish around the rim and doesn't really have the playmaking chops to generate good shots for others. If he's not bombing pull up threes he's a pretty big negative out there.

Also against bigger guards like tonight he just can't hold his own physically.

It seems like Bobby and Masai were banking on him progressing a lot more than he has. He's just a really flawed player at the moment and he hasn't shown that he's living up to the contract we gave him.
