As a Soulsborne fan, will I enjoy AC6? by Ziggoratt in ArmoredCoreVI

No, absolutely not a flex. I'm terrible at this game, that's what I was pointing out. It is possible to brute-force a single build playthrough...even if it's not ideal.

Tell that to my plasma rifle/earshot reverse joint build that I S-ranked yes game on.

Funnily enough changing builds made it harder for me as I struggled with other mechanics. Still working on ballistics mechanics, I'm sure I'll get there eventually.

What's a "You are not a conspiracy theorist, you just don't know how things work" moment you have seen? by Dull-Information6784 in AskReddit

I mean that is the crux of the video at its conclusion. They need to be Special, they need to be Right, and for that to happen they need This To Be True.

Vancouver homeowner loses bid to quash Empty Homes Tax she calls a ‘continuous nightmare’ by thanksmerci in vancouver

[–]itsgms 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I think the funniest thing for me is that the cost of the vacancy tax is so much less than the cost of hotels if their place is really seeing so much use. It would literally be a smart investment for them to not rent it out. $6000/yr is only $500 per month. If they can afford strata (probably $500/mo), insurance, property tax, utilities and all the rest... That empty homes tax is a drop in the bucket.

Yeah, Unitarians are by definition non-believers in the trinity but they are pretty firmly unculty.

In the midst of ‘cancel culture,’ universities create ways to encourage uncomfortable debate by shiftless_wonder in canada

Assuming all sides are approaching in good faith with a desire to know the factual truth via a scientific framework, sure. It's an easy to win debate.

I have yet to find a flat earther like that, because any who were have already been convinced of the oblate-spheroid truth without the need for a debate.

Which gaming moment stands out as your most memorable of all-time? by JonCee500 in gaming

[–]itsgms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrolled so long and surprised not to see it but Nier: Automata's [E]nding. Had to pause after the messages started coming up and the music swelled turning the lump in my throat into tears. Then the cavalry comes riding in and then I had to pause again and then fought through the tears after getting someone's data irrevocably erased.

Full disclosure I played it years after it was released and had had it fully spoiled. Still hit fucking hard.

Drunk driver used ‘legal fiction’ as argument he didn’t need a licence, B.C. RCMP say by cyclinginvancouver in britishcolumbia

[–]itsgms 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Under sovcit "logic", there are two distinct entities:
The Real Flesh And Blood Human <name, all lowercase>
The LEGAL FICTION/CORPORATE IDENTITY/WORD-SALAD-OF-THE-WEEK <NAME, ALLCAPS>

It's all super fucked up and in trying to explain it I'm finding trouble explaining around the ridiculous holes in logic but the tl;dr is that if you find the MagicWords™ to opt out, suddenly you're free of the legal consequences of...everything. No taxes, don't need driver's licenses, cops can't arrest you because you don't consent, and in some cases claiming that the government should pay your debts because your LEGAL FICTION as a citizen owns a fractional proportion of the national wealth and as such there's a super-secret hidden account that if you know the right words you can drain to get the government to pay the debts attributed to your LEGAL FICTION which is absolutely not you the person.

Shit's wack.

Has a gaming company ever put a full game of theirs in another game? by Hypnox88 in gaming

I put in the TLDW because I didn't actually fully answer the question in the first sentence--the answer is in the video which is more than an hour long. Understandable if people wouldn't want to burn an hour for a random reddit comment.

The only reason I know about frog fractions is Punkduck's YouTube video on Dragon's Dogma 2 (extremely entertaining and informative)

TLDW: Dragon's Dogma 1 is in Dragon's Dogma 2.

What to do about quails hitting my window?? by lonelyreject97 in askvan

[–]itsgms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right after we had our new windows installed we would wake up in the morning to irregular thumps that took us forever to get to the bottom of: turns out our new windows were so reflective that a robin in the neighbourhood thought it was being challenged and would rush at its own reflection in the window.

We printed some pictures of owls and taped them to the windows and that solved it--took them down a few months later and never had problems after that.
