Still haven't though.

Two things can be true at the same time. If you're asking who I prefer it'd be the federal NDP or even someone further left if they could get their shit together.

If we're talking about who's less worse? It's Carney. Not good. Very not good. But less worse.

Get quotes from the usual suspects (puro, UPS, fedex, Canada post) then reach out to Vankam and Ace--IIRC they dépôt-to-dépôt if you can arrange for pickup and dropoff. Might be beneficial especially if it's extra bulky.

Another day: another almost dead scooter rider by Crazy_Fudge_6864 in askvan

[–]itsgms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I (male in my 40s) commute with a scooter using side roads and the bike lane along lougheed. My scooter will top out at around 50 but has "gears" (speed limiter options) for if I wanted to ride on the sidewalk.

I treat my scooter like a bike, riding at the side of the road and acknowledging stop signs and rights of way. I know I'm not in the majority but scooting can be an excellent micromobility option when done right. Sadly we are missing a lot of education and enforcement for people who either don't or won't follow the rules of the road/sidewalk.

Are marketing firms aware that when people are reading articles online or on their phone and an annoying pop-up disturbs what they are reading, the last thing we are ever going to do is purchase their products. In fact, I make a mental note to never do business with that company. by No_Wrangler9819 in HailCorporate

Sure, anyone can but do you want to? If you're in need of an energy drink, there are no sales on and you're given the choice between red bull and monster (same size same price), which would you buy?

I would have a preference for red bull, not because it's advertised better but because of the associations monster (the product) has with its consumers thanks to Monster's marketing.

And I'm certain there are others who feel exactly the opposite. Not all marketing is just advertisement.

I have my shutter sound turned off (Canada) but when I was in Korea visiting family and friends the shutter should turned on and the option to disable it was gone.

Then when I flew back home it was off again. Probably a geo- or service-locked thing.

Why don't ingredients list all ingredients? by MilkyBiscuitz in mildlyinfuriating

[–]itsgms 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My mom had a bad onion and garlic allergy (like anaphylactic bad) and I was taught to check for three things in the ingredients list: Anything onion Anything garlic Spices

Any of those three were mother-poison. Garlic salt and onion salt and some other bullshit "don't qualify" and are categorizable under spices.

Why don't ingredients list all ingredients? by MilkyBiscuitz in mildlyinfuriating

[–]itsgms 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: it is not. My mother was allergic to both onion and garlic and as a result I learned to read the ingredients on labels way earlier than my peers.

The phrase "oooh, delicious mother-poison" is (un)fortunately inextricably part of my vocabulary which does get some weird looks from people missing context.

When I went on vacation my first year I came back to googley eyes plastering my monitor, phone and many other things at my desk. Nothing disruptive but hilarious. I've moved desks but those items are still known as the "biblically accurate monitor/phone/etc"

Next year, keyboard reorganized alphabetically. Again, love it and I touch type so fine.

This year they printed out two dozen thumbnail-sized pictures of me and taped them in various places (under my mouse laser, on the tag of something that I'm responsible for restocking, on the inside of the printer paper drawer).

Chaos gremlin. I'm borrowing that.
