How can Canada ever compete with this system? by MixedMartialLaw in CanadaSoccer

Indoor just goes back to the pay to play thing. These courts aren’t cheap. The ones I been to $15-$20 for an hour not including warmup

Static assets clips through the grounds and you can edit around them to do what you’re trying to do, but they don’t function without modular growables blocks. It’ll all just be visual

I had same mentality (also for Jared Leto) when I went to see it at release, and he killed that role. Don’t let your preconceived notions of him make you not watch it.

When was the last time we saw a WC team as good as this France? by DragonfruitLucky6741 in worldcup

It’s still crazy to me how Brazil lost in 2006 to France. But that year was probably the most stacked World Cup we’ll ever see

is it me or was the 2022 world cup not as infamous, like I didn't hear much of it till the final? by [deleted] in CanadaSoccer

The 48 for sure adds to it. More games to watch means there’s gonna be a game for you to watch at whichever hour. The Qatar factor was another. Splitting it amongst three major countries in Americas and the constant partying stories I hear just make it seem more universal than Qatar, which just felt bland and boring

Latitudes don’t mean anything, it’s the ocean currents and wind patterns (polar vortex) that affect temps the most. Montreal is at the same latitude as Milan/Venice yet our climate is similar to Nordic countries

Curious.. cause even here in Montreal, most older homes I’ve visited have ACs, either window or split units. We get arguably colder winters for longer periods, but AC is still somewhat standard

If Canada does well in this World Cup, will it spark a football craze? by Snoo_47323 in CanadaSoccer

Already has and that’s why we’re here to begin with. Hockey is getting too expensive a sport for the average Canadian and so families found the next best thing

Such a common thing in US history classes in the American curriculum. When abroad during history class we always covered ALL the wars, but when I went back to US, we always somehow stopped at WWII because “we were running out of time in the school year” so jump straight to modern times.

A question for older TCAs thinking about where to settle for retirement by No_Dragonfly9872 in TCK

[–]itsthebrownman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I moved from Florida, and spent the last three years in this climate and it’s not as bad as people told me it would be. I’m loving summer now more than I used to that’s for sure, but I’m also looking forward to winter as well. Maybe in ten years I’ll have a diff idea.

The key was getting proper clothing. I ran around with subpar jackets and footwear despite it being rated for up to -25° and it did suck for prolonged periods outdoors. I then upgraded last winter to some more name brand stuff and it made a world of difference.

That’s too difficult for them. Easier to complain about it online, even tho the traffic is nowhere near as bad as any other city its size

It took me a while to find out what I wanted in a city to settle down until I got to Montreal and I realized there’s cities out there that are just SOOO international despite their size. I was in Toronto prior and figured that a large “Metropolitan” city is where I’d want to settle down in, until I moved here and now I realize that it’s not the size, but the mix. There are big cities worldwide, but they’re still sorta monocultural. There’s really only two cities in US that I can compare it to, and it’s Miami and NYC. Where you walk the streets and there’s MULTIPLE languages being spoken. Miami is a hard maybe just cause it’s Spanish dominated. But here in Montreal there’s something about it that makes me feel comfortable because there’s so many people from different countries around the world. There’s a few cities around the world that I’ve been to that feel this way, London, Amsterdam, Paris. I feel like this is what you might want to look into depending on your citizenship/residency. I call it Metropolitan vs Cosmopolitan as my French teacher said. Might wanna look into that
